ffxiv not for causals then

Shopping in manchester yesterday I saw FF14 for a whopping 5 pounds. I was shocked when I read the recommended system requirements. My system is in between the required and recommended so i thought maybe i could run it on the lowest settings an still enjoy the game.

I recently played with rift, and i think rift have beautifully crafted graphics. if i turn the settings low, like the background view distance, the background turns misty. this doesnt really imo affect the standard of the graphics too much. but when I have the lowest settings on ff14, the game looks like im playing doom. and still its unplayable.

Geez, these trolls have been banned repeatedly, but they buy more copies of the game and keep coming back. I guess SE doesn't mind since they're getting paid.

looks like SE need my 5 quid since this game has been a massive financial flop.

Depends what your definition is of 'casual'

If casual = 4 year old computers/laptops, then no. It's fairly clear from the quality of graphics etc this is a relatively high-end MMO.
