I'm lost now I've got Flash and gone back to my Marauder

Aargh. Lol I'm never going to get this game

I've spent 12 levels and 3 days grinding things in Ul'dar trying to get Flash for my Marauder, and got it, and Convalescence too while I was there, Nd now zi've transformed back into a Marauder and gone back to Limpopo and I don't know what to do. Baldir won't speak to me and I've wandered around but there's just more quests like 'take this book to a guy over there' and suchlike. I cant find snyone with the firey main quest icon. I'm confused. I tried signing up for some guildhenges and discovered that I've forgotten how to play a Marauder too which didnmt help. I've got loads of icons in my hotbar now but since they're all on a global cooldown it seems like most of them are pointless. I got a commendation in the bit where you havecto lure a huge tortoise into a swampgas explosion, so spamming flash presumably impressed someone, but I'd like to get on with the main questline. Who do I speak to at lvl 18 to het back on track?

Take a look at your Journal and see what was the last story quest you completed. If the last main story quest you completed was 'It's Probably Pirates', when you finished that Baderon then told you to head to Gridania for the next one called 'Fire in the Gloom', which is gained from Miounne at the Carline Canopy in New Gridania. This will involve another dungeon trek, this time through the Tam-Tara Deepcroft.

Oh yeah, I got that one but its in Gridania and I thought that was for archers and suchlike. So is my Marauder finished wih Limpopo now? I go to Gridania and that's where the Marauder 18+ content is?

Cheers. I was already there for a bit but I was getting asked to pick up vegetables from a theater stage and cheer up mentally disabled women which wasn't very epic. It's strange how you can't outlevel quests in FF.

Main story quests are not restricted to a certain class, just as long as your level meets the requirement for that quest (like, you need a class at level 15 to get a level 15 story quest). You're free to accept a story quest regardless of what class you are as long as it's level is high enough. So don't worry.

No. It is soon after that quest that the main storylines converge and are no longer unique to an area.
The level 1-15 main story questline is unique in each city for characters starting there.
Class quests are available every five leveles for each quest and from 30-50 they may change location when they change from class quests to job quests. I'm sure you know but you have to be holding that class's weapon in order to pickup class quests.

No, they aren't.
Class quests tell you lore about each class, offer rewards usable by that class/Discipline and are restricted to that class, meaning you can only progress through Marauder class quests as Marauder, and so on.
Main story quests develop... Um... wel, you know, the main story plot You can progress through them with any class/job as long as that class/job's level meets the requeriments.

Class quests are the quests you do for your class, like Marauder or Conjurer. They start from your class guild and are restricted to the class (one character can of course do all the class quests in the game if they level all the classes but they can only be completed on the class they're meant for: you can complete Marauder quests only as a Marauder). There's a class quest every 5 levels starting from 1 and ending to 30. After 30, they'll change to job quests, starting from unlocking the job (for example Marauder unlocking Warrior or Conjurer unlocking White Mage) and proceeding to unlock job abilities and receiving Artifact Armour.

Main Scenario quests form the main story of the game and are required to unlock game content. They can be completed on any job. Some of them require a group to complete (such as the dungeons). They are marked with special meteor icon.

From level 1-15 (up through the quest that makes you an envoy from your starting city to the others) each starting city has its own main quest line, and you can only do the one that corresponds to the city where your starting class's guild is located. Since you started as a Marauder, you'd have the Limsa Lominsan main quest line for those first 15 levels. But then from level 15 on, there is only one main storyline that everyone follows, and it moves back and forth between different regions.
