I obviously know more about your class than you do, play how I tell you.

I REALLY hate running into these types of players, typically raiders(not all raiders of course).

Left a expert because I just couldn't handle how obnoxious this guy was. "Have you even cleared coil anything?" Your rotation is wrong, why do Dragoons never listen and always die?"

Died once because a new BLM and WHM didn't know they had to kill stomach on the fungus thing on Lost City dungeon.

Anyone care to tell their experiences with players who think they know better than you?

this is kind of a thin line to walk to be honest. Some people maybe consider your ways as you not taking criticism, thus having a holier attitude then the one you criticize (not saying is the case). This is the typical situation where there is an intention and a perception, and they dont always agree. Maybe he did raelly want to help and just did it the wrong way and you took it as him being berating....maybe he thought you were doing it on purpose to annoy the rest and answered in kind, so many maybes and perhaps, in the end, though, we are all guilty of such attitudes at different degrees....is just a matter of taking what you want to take and follow what you want to follow...the rest being irrelevant from whom it comes and what is said.

As for the stories, the best I have is a whm that was telling me (sch) where to stand what to do in CT and the nest minute the whm died because he forgot to heal himself too busy he was to tell me what to do, I didnt die during that CT....mind you I didnt heal him I think a healer can do it himself..no ? there is always a return when people are just playing smart.

Sometimes other players are more experienced and do know more about your job than you do. Just because you hit max level doesn't mean you know your optimal rotation. Even though elitists are trying to just speed up dungeon runs for themselves and don't really give a crap about you, a lot of times their advice is solid and should at least be considered.

I'll flip this around and say that I REALLY hate running into the types of players who aren't willing to take advice and learn their roles even better. Yeah you have every right to play how you want, but just remember that 3-7 other players are in runs with you and are reliant on you to play your job to its maximum potential.

I've been a raid leader and a FC leader in FC's that are very laid back and all about teaching players to clear harder things. Nothing bothers me more than people that refuse to take advice, especially when they turn around and act rude to you and say they no better when quite honestly they don't at most times.

Since I wasn't there, I can't speculate on the words, tone, etc. The question I do have though is that was their advice wrong, or was it the tone that bothered you?

Advice is nice when asked, but when you are constantly hounding someone who doesn't play the game like you do, it gets annoying. I don't need to know the best of the best because i'm not a raider in this game and just want to play it for fun. I know playing this game for fun is a shocker to some of you, but we pay for a sub like you, let us play the way we want to play in peace.

You are absolutely right. You do pay a sub, just like everyone else. Let me ask this question. How would you feel if in every instance you did, the healer refused to heal at all because they want to DPS because "that's how they want to play"? Just asking this so I can better understand where you are coming from.

If someone commented my healing I'd stop listening to them, I'm a healer most of the time and that's something I know how to do efficiently.
But well if someone commented me on my soon to be 50 monk or summoner I'd gladly listen to advice as I'm not even sure if I'm doing right.

then it also depends on the approach "Hey Kiara if you use that instead of that you'd keep up greased lightning easier" or "Your rotation is wrong!"
Unfortunately most ppl who do comment go with the 2nd one

You're right, it is their right to play like that. Its also the party's right to kick that player as well if they don't like it. I don't infringe on people's rights to play the game, I hate doing that.

Since the other two party members didn't care much for the conversation, they didn't vote for any kicks on either of us. I just got VERY annoyed and left because the other player would not stop HOUNDING on that particular subject about my rotation AND my raid progression in this game(practically have none).

It's a double edged sword, sometimes if I'm in a dungeon as healer and I notice the BLM just using wrong spells like one who spammed blizz 2 for aoe, or a smn who just used bio and ruin, I feel if I put it politely advice is needed.
However theirs the other side, I was healing tam tam Tara last night with an obnoxious tank who kept telling me I'm healing wrong (they wanted to speed run it.....) they kept saying I need to stone skin and regen then so they can pull big groups, when I pointed out I'm leveling healer and I haven't even unlocked regen or stone skin yet they let loose with what a bad player I was, till a smn pointed out even if I was 50 I still wouldn't have access to them due to lvl synch, the tank ragequit and called us all noobs, FC friend joined and we finished it with no arguments

I have not met a person like that yet, who was trying to advice me on my DRG Rotation. The thing is, if i enter 8 Man Content and there is a second DRG i tend to tell them the same, but probably in a more "nice" way. It does annoy me if a DRG does not use their Rotations, don't touch HT, just spam VT Combo and so on. IT IS holding back the whole group and saying that you play for fun and you pay the sub, so you are entitled to it is straight arrogant and selfish. In this case i would give you an advice as well; "Go play Single-Player Games".

Sorry, do not understand me wrong. There are indeed people who are trying to tell you how to play and act like retards, but being ignorant for the way how to play your class, does not make you any better. I don't know if his advice was right or wrong, but there are always 2 sides of a medal and i've met way too many bad DRG's to blindly believe anything i read here.
