Carpentry ahhh

Hey, I'm a level 46 carpenter but can't make a HQ jade crook as part of the main quest.
I've tried for ages, I've used HQ lumber,HQ spoken blood and HQ horn glue but can't get HQ jadeite and it just makes a NQ jade crook!
I've tried about 5 times but it's not working,
It's gotta have cost me about 60,000 Gil trying so far.
Any advice? I'm in the zodiark realm on PS4 just in case someone has one :-).

Getting other crafts to 15 for their cross-class abilities would be of great help. Alternatively, you could finish your way to 50 CRP first, because CRP gets a very nice ability at 50.

You have to increase the quality when crafting.
Using HQ materials gives you a good headstart, but it doesn't mean the finished item will be HQ.
As Raldo said, you should get the other crafting classes to lvl15 for their cross class skills.
Especially Alchemist, Weaver, Culinarian and Leatherworker. Using their skills saves you CP, increases success rate and reduces durability loss.

as stated buy it from mb if your having trouble... there's no way it would of cost you 60k of the board unless your server is full of gil robbing thieves..!! lol

Zodiark is one of the newer servers so that might be the case.

The items required for these quests shouldn't be sellable or tradeable in the first place.
Buying your way up shouldn't be an option.
That's my opinion.

If no one is, that's a great untapped market waiting to be explored! I'm sure there's plenty of crafters with more gil than sense willing to buy their way to level 50. No worries about competition from the likes of them - if they can't figure out how to HQ their own stuff, they're no threat to real crafters.

I totally agree they shouldn't be sellable or buyable as well. but since they are you may as well take advantage of it.

I grinded a lot in doh classes to get to 50 but the classes I had little interest in using like cul I used mb to buy hq items for leves and missions, unless there was none on the board then I would craft it.

now I mainly use leatherworker, weaver, goldsmith, armourer and blacksmith. which I hand crafted my way to 50 with.
