I go in as healer and can solo heal it while nuking.
Except it kinda ruins the flow of the dungeon if you're still mid-cutscene and hearing the boss yelling taunts at the party....and then it's dead by the time you're done with the first cutscene, and you missed the entire fight, and now there's another cutscene to sit through, except the intended impact is completely derailed since you missed that important boss and all its fight-chatter...

Might not be important to some people, but I play FF for the story...if there was a no-skipping DF I'd gladly join it on a regular basis, both to help new players, and to actually, finally, get to play through these dungeons properly.

There's been lots of suggestions on how to fix this, but I've thought of one that could work. Nerf the last 3 events to be light parties instead of full, and have BoE Hard mode as the first taste of a full party. That way everyone has to contribute, and nobody can get left behind. It should also make the events actually difficult, since currently the conclusion to the game is a complete cakewalk. Ultimate Weapon was the hardest challenge in FF7, and it was almost sad to see it made a joke out of by the horde of overgeared speedrunners. Bloody Ifrit was more of a challenge!
Excuse me that freakin easy ultima weapon ff7 is the hardest challenge? u ever met ruby and emerald weapon?

Add option to play all CS at the end of the dungeon. Problem = solved!

Nope. You can already do this in the inn if you want, but unless they add an option to replay the battles too, it's still not the same experience.

    Explain.
    1. If you toggle option "no skip cut scene" (in PF) or "first timer" option (in future DF or whatever). You will have to expect that it gonna be a long waiting. If you can have enough patient through that, then you will enjoy 100% of your story.

    2. If you not do any of those option above. You will have to expect that other 7 person who join for their share of reward doesn't want to wait you. Because you & SE didn't pay them equal amount of time they need to spend. The tome reward that you know for help newbies is just so little btw, something that not worth it if spend more than 10 min.. If they expect to wait 30 min everytimes then all the veteran will not bother to join it at all. and back to the option above that it will always be long queue that require long waiting.

Image those OP gear that joined your party as labor workers, you can not ask them to work longer than the time they expected unless reward is equal. Currently reward is not equal to the time waiting cut-scene at all.

    Way to fix.

Only Win-Win relationship can fix this, because if you force them to watch cut-scene then veteran will never join it in the future, and if they can skip cut-scene like this, newbies will have their first time ruined. So they need to make a huge reward, that only trigger to them when there is a first timer in the party, and that it will lock everybody to waiting that person during every cut-scene. If the amount of reward worth the time they wait, they will wait for sure. CS alone worth 15-20 min, so the extra reward for waiting must be 2-3x. Then it is happy for both side.

I haven't done these last two dungeons yet (though I need to). I have already watched the cut scenes for them. While I can see both sides of the argument, I personally don't mind waiting around for someone who wants to stick around and watch the cut scenes. The way I see it, it's an opportunity to heed an emergency bio-break or refill my glass of generic Kool Aid (I'm too poor for name brand) or even stand and stretch and pop my knuckles and back.

I wish I could think of a solution that's ideal for everyone, but I can't. Though I wish the impatient people who just want to speed run for tomes would be less abusive about it. As the adage goes "Slow down. Life is to be savored."

Or you know, SE could just remove them from the Roulette. They'd still be there to queue for those of us who are actually interesting in helping new players while the Ritalin addicted, speed run tools can find something else to ruin for everyone else.

Let's be realistic. How many people are going to just queue up randomly for Prae and Castrum out of the goodness of their little hearts for the off chance that someone needs the run for story completion without some sort of incentive?

Honestly, with the amount of tomes you get out of it, I haven't bothered with either of those two for weeks, simply because Brayflox is just ridiculously easier and faster. A fraction of the time for the same amount of tomes. They screwed the pooch on both of those dungeons already with lowering the potential Myth reward in 2.2.

They didn't nerf the myth reward...those dungeons never dropped myth to begin with. It's only right that they would drop less myth than they did philo because myth buys you higher level gear than philo did. Anyone who was expecting all the philo dungeons to suddenly drop equal myth when philo was abolished were dreaming. Even with philo gone myth tomes are worth more than philo tomes were. The intention is not for new 50s to farm CM/Prae and jump from i50 to i90 so they aren't going to put 100 myth or anything silly in those dungeons.

    Cool

I know every class can't do this, but I figured this was worth a good chuckle.

When I finally got to Prea, I was psyched! The end of ARR 1.0 Story was within sight! Upon joining, everyone was super nice, until I decided I wanted to watch the cut scenes. I was a tank, and was constantly harassed to skip them. It was the end of my journey, and I felt it unfair I had to give up the most important part of the story just so a few players could get their tomes faster. I even tried explaining to them they could start the fight if they wished, I just really wanted to enjoy the story. Around the elevator boss, I was then kicked mid cut scene, with the "see you, next time watch it in a INN, taking forever" from party chat.

So, granted I was very annoyed, and took me out of that epic feeling.
I wasn't one for giving up so easy though. I qued Duty in Progress, joined right back in to the same group, and proceeded to watch every cut scene until the very end. Lets just say the few who were harassing me lost their mind >;p
