How to fix Castrum and Praetorium

Tonight, just like each and every one of you, my enjoyment of the last two dungeons was ruined by impatient players that wanted everyone to bully first timers and rush through everything for their tomes.

There's been lots of suggestions on how to fix this, but I've thought of one that could work. Nerf the last 3 events to be light parties instead of full, and have BoE Hard mode as the first taste of a full party. That way everyone has to contribute, and nobody can get left behind. It should also make the events actually difficult, since currently the conclusion to the game is a complete cakewalk. Ultimate Weapon was the hardest challenge in FF7, and it was almost sad to see it made a joke out of by the horde of overgeared speedrunners. Bloody Ifrit was more of a challenge!

Be nicer and avoid DR if you don't have the patience to put up with the cutscenes. That should be enough...

Add bonus tomes for not skipping cutscenes.

They had better add like another 100-150 for Pre at least. Some of those CS's are damned long.

But for starters I would accept an admission that SE screwed up. Making main storyline zones also locations to grind endgame items. Things are not as bad now with Longstop (Hard) but pre 2.2 wow...

Wasn't the point of that to add an incentive for vets to help first timers? Amazing how bad it backfired.

Or just have a lockout on bosses until everyone finishes their cutscene, the same as when zoning into a dungeon. Fixes everything

It fixes having the party fight the boss before everyone is done, but the impatient players will still likely bully people attempting to go through cutscenes to try to make them go faster, or skip them all together.

The best answer is you find a nice FC / Do a Party Finder and say that you are skipping no CSs and want to clear it normally not a speed run. If your FC has nice people they should be more than happy to do it for you, I did it for some of my FC members. Heck you don't even need a full group from your FC, just the 2 tanks and the 2 healers, at that point you can force it not be be a speed run, DD are a dime a dozen. If you go the party finder route you also shout in mor donna, there may be alot of elitests there but there are also some nice people standing around and if there bored they do help random people who ask nicely (personal experence asking for help with hydra/chimera/cape westwind pre-duty roulette).

Make storyline roulette require the "new person" that actually chose that duty be required to hit a "ready button" to start the CS for a boss. This will at least make sure you could not trigger a boss fight and lock them out

I think there should be a toggle option, similar to the "Join a dungeon in progress", which enables folks to choose to toggle whether they wish to be paired with first-timers. That way, the impatient players have their own place to grind (even though, really, it would be faster to go into PF and build a myth grinding party that way), and first-timers and folks willing to help (like myself) can be paired together to clear content without having to worry about rude players.
