Question about certain items

Should've posted this a while back, but anyway, there are clothing items that I may have got, which are labelled as 'Discipline Of War' (in my case, in red) - what does that mean?

There are 4 disciplines. War is physical attackers, magic is magic users, land is gatherers, hand is crafters.

Would that mean I need to be a Marauder or Gladiator?

Or archer or lancer or pugilist. Most gear that is disciplines of war gear is intended for those three. Gladiator and marauder typically use gear exclusive to them (well, and warrior and paladin)

I need to find some shepards slops and a tunic. Which disciplibe is that and where do I go to get it?

Shepherd's Slops and Tunic fall under the "All Classes" category..meaning there are no restrictions based on what class you are equipping it to. Weavers generally make these, as well being sold by various NPC vendors in the game. When in doubt about items in the game..I find the Lodestone and website xivdb.com to be reliable and good resources for information.

If you need the WEATHERED versions for a quest, they are given to you during the quest.
