Serious question: When does this game get good?

So my 30 day trial is almost up and i am trying to decide if i want to sub to this game or not. So far it really doesn't seem that interesting and the lack of feeling like part of a community is pretty lame.

Are endgame dungeons just like lower level dungeons? Where are the interesting mechanics instead of just killing everything in sight?

So yeah, when does this game get good?

Level 50. That's when you start gearing, taking on hard and extreme primals, coil (which I don't enjoy) getting your relic weapon, getting tomes.

I agree, lvl 50 is when the ''hard'' content is available

It gets much better around endgame, they designed the early dungeons to be easy.
I don't exactly understand why... durring the early dungeons people just walk through and hit a brickwall when it comes to endgame.
You pretty much need a static to get through most of the content, you won't be able to random the new coils (Raid instance) and expect to do well.
The Extreme mode primals are pretty interesting too.
If you seek challenge in this game you won't be disappointed lvl 50 delivers.

Learning curve. That's your reason why. The dungeons, going from Sastasha to Darkhold are designed in a staggering way to make you familiar with your skills, mechanics (which reappear throughout the rest of the game if you haven't noticed), positioning, etc. It's all a learning curve to prepare people for the end game content, such as coil, primals, harder dungeons for tomes and such.

Level 50 for me has been a lot more enjoyable than levelling up.

But I did still enjoy that journey, if you're not having fun I'd consider leaving, playing a game you're not enjoying is an awful prospect.

MMOs now tend to focus on level cap content since you'll spend the majority of your time there. I levelled up paladin to 50 first and I have to say it's very boring. It's a little better at 50 since you get your AoE spell. I've not tried marauder/warrior but having fun as a monk and blowing things up as a black mage is fun.

Everyone is telling you lvl 50 and I'm going to be the devils advocate here. I love this game, every part of it. I'm objective enough to know, however, that if you don't like the game from 1-49, you're not going to like it at 50. FFXIV just may not be the one for you.

As someone who hasn't got to 50 yet either, I find it baffling you could have got this far without finding the fun - and that to me is a strong indicator that this may not be the game for you. I mean sure, there is going to be more challenge at endgame, and I'm looking forward to running raid content, but I'm also loving what I am doing now. In fact, I've slowed down leveling on my main job because I don't want to get to endgame too soon. My typical routine is daily beast quests on main class, daily GC craft hand-ins, playing another class through a few leves, grinding for mats if I feel like it, doing something on DF if i feel like it. I don't imagine level 50 is going to be hugely different, other than I'll be spending time focusing on gearing and progressing my main job too.

If I wasn't having fun at this point in the game, I would totally be quitting the game and finding something more fun to put the sub fee towards. maybe try a single month to make that push to 50 and see if you have more fun then, but honestly, from what you've said I think that may be wasted time and money.

yeah I gotta agree with this.
If you're asking when does (Insert Game Here) get "good", then pretty much the answer for you is going to be... never.

though with an MMO finding a good Guild that you really mesh with can make even a dull game seem fun. (it's why I stuck with XI way longer than I otherwise would have), But barring that, very rarely does a game that you're not finding fun suddenly become so.
