I would love to be able to use the dodge button to avoid possible kill shots from mobs. I think it would add more depth to combat and it would still be compatible with the current/planned battle system changes. Make it so it's not guaranteed that you'll evade the attack completely. Like a too late jump, the player can suffer full or slightly reduced damage. It's only like playing with distance, like running far away enough to avoid a body splash maneuver from a frog.

Also it would be really nice once PVP is added in the game.

This was a Square Enix game and the controls are similar to how FFXIV is now, so I don't see how it would be hard to implement. Even the UI looks almost the same. The action bar is on the top right with only 10 buttons though. Yoshida did talk about wanting more freedom of movement.
