Front Line Healer

Dear SE. I'd really like to see you continue the tradition you created with Dancer, that was mimicked in Warhammer Online with Warpriest.

And that is the Front Line Healer. A Cloth/Leather Wearing Melee Fighter who uses their melee attacks to fuel abilities that assist the party with healing and minor buffs like Haste, Regen, Protect, etc.

When Dancer came out on FFXI it literally became my favorite job and sub job. It changes how a player could play jobs like Warrior and Samurai. I could actually MAIN HEAL as a Samurai with Dancer Subbed. This was quite possibly one of the most fun side effects of the Dancer Jobs implementation.

Now I know, not everyone even likes the idea of a Front Line Healer. For some reason they hate the idea that a healer is on the front line, can deal damage. And Damage Dealt is used to Heal others. But I LOVE this idea. Its still very unique among MMO's, and i think FFXIV would benefit from a class and job that can perform this roll.

Anyways, I do miss the days of D&D Clerics, where the only healer for a while was the badass cleric with a huge hammer sitting up on the front line....

Dancer is kinda broken when it comes to survival abilities. I will admit I am one of those envious thieves, though. But I'm also a ninja! Which is pretty darn broken too. Five shadow Utsusemi: Ni, four shadow Utsuemi: Ichi? Why thank you.

Was there a nonbroken class >.> Besides Summoner? Or was Summoner broken too?

Summoner was broken in that it was for the most part useless other than being a glorified White Mage. It was used a bit at end game until zerg rushes came into the picture. nvm I guess... >_> I'm not sure why, but Summoner isn't really popular in Abyssea....

There were no broken classes tbh. Keyword were. NIN and WAR are pretty OP nowadays. Dancer is just an amazing class all around but it's not overpowered by any means (It's also my new main in FFXI).

I agree, I would really like Dancer to make a return into FFXIV or at least something similar! :P Healing in FFXI always put me to sleep (I really hated it when I had to do it on my SMN -_-) and when they added Dancer, it was the first time I really enjoyed healing, even if it wasn't as powerful as a White Mage.

Dancer and Warpriest were some of the most fun, and most challenging (especially in large groups) job/class to play in their respective MMO's but its because you have to constantly be thinking about what manuevers you need to pull off to stay alive and keep them planned 5 steps ahead. Its more input work from the player for an awesome output.

Oh no no xD I was talking about main-healing as a SAM subbed DNC.

It was awesome. I used it for our Kraken Club Runs in BCNM because I could use Meditate, WS, then heal the Summoners while they were trying to nuke the KrakenNM (can never remember his name.). It basically turned me into a Healtank.
