Did you not play Warhammer and only read the class description? Warrior Priest and Disciple of Khaine were the most simple and overpowered(and still are) healer classes to play. Because putting DPS, Mitigation, AOE and single target healing, as well as buffs on the same character is really gonna be balanced... lol...

Yes it needs balanced but I'm not asking for Warpriest to be copy pasted either. I asked simply for a class that uses Melee damage dealt to power healing abilities.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

There was really nothing ever stopping WHM in XI from being a DD except that it meant replacing healing and MP gear with melee, which parties would simply /rage about if you even dared. That, and the fact that MP took so damn long to recover...

In fact Hexa Strike was one of the stronger weapon skills (even compared to real melees) in the game, at least at the 75 cap.

In other words, jobs are what the playerbase makes of them.

Yeah. I saw a White Mage with the Mjolnir and a Kclub subbed ninja walk through ballista and basically one shot people with hexaclub. It was a beast.

True, but even so, Dancer was more of an offensive healer and White Mage more defensive simply by their skillsets. For example, Dancer had Haste, Drain, and Aspir samba, which could only be applied by striking an enemy with your weapon, they had all sorts of steps that reduced enemy evasion, defense, etc. White Mage was more about buffing the party with protect and shell, maybe a haste here and there, etc.

Also, as far as WHM becoming a DD, as far as I remember they had to sacrifice some pretty nice staffs to do so, which had like +10% healing bonuses on them. Yes, jobs are what the playerbase makes of them but what the playerbase makes out of them depends on what abilities and traits are given to the jobs.

This would be a little different play style, but I was expecting something more like a Chloromancer from Rift.

They would play different from Dancer too. Dancer has the front line role of attacking while supporting. The Chloromancer has the dual role of combining ranged spell damage with heal effects as a convert % as well as pure heal spells too from the back line.

As for how we work this into Final Fantasy, I'm not too sure. Geomancer maybe? Chloromancers do focus on nature based attacks.

And that is the Front Line Healer. A Cloth/Leather Wearing Melee Fighter who uses their melee attacks to fuel abilities that assist the party with healing and minor buffs like Haste, Regen, Protect, etc.

When Dancer came out on FFXI it literally became my favorite job and sub job. It changes how a player could play jobs like Warrior and Samurai. I could actually MAIN HEAL as a Samurai with Dancer Subbed. This was quite possibly one of the most fun side effects of the Dancer Jobs implementation.

Now I know, not everyone even likes the idea of a Front Line Healer. For some reason they hate the idea that a healer is on the front line, can deal damage. And Damage Dealt is used to Heal others. But I LOVE this idea. Its still very unique among MMO's, and i think FFXIV would benefit from a class and job that can perform this roll.
I agree. It requires careful balancing, but SE kinda nailed it in that department with XI's Dancer.

Warrior Priest was a bit much in WAR. It was kinda funny because whenever I'd encounter a healing class from the opposite faction (chaos I think), we would sit there whacking each other and healing ourselves so much that in the end we'd just give up and go our separate ways as we were never able to kill one another. Man that game was fun for like, two weeks.

Thats why I always rolled with a WitchHunter with me in PVP. I'd tank and spank, and they would gank. Game over little Chaos.

    I know!

Me, I went with a White Lion in WAR. Lotsa fun, but yeah, only for a couple weeks.

    ...kinda like this game. T_T
