The will to Level?

Hello! I'm currently a R21 Archer and since my return to the game, I've been focusing on bringing my Conj up to level for buffs. I'm finding myself with the lack of a will to want to level at all.

I started playing the game on release and back then the only thing that made the game playable for me was the large number of people. Now that I'm back from the break I'm finding that all of the R1-20 camps (And possible R30) are completely empty.

Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but without anyone to link leves with or even party with has kind of drained me of my will to even want to log on anymore.

Can anyone suggest an alternative? If any. Or possibly a way to enhance my leveling experience, it could just be my server after all.

This is one of the main problems with the game and why it retains so few players. The truth is, there are no alternatives, at least none that provide more motivation to level (anything else will likely provide less).

I'm much in the same boat, but for several different reasons. I hate the leve system in it's current form, so even though it's the best way to get experience I largely ignore it.

The two main classes I want to play right now are Thaumaturge and Gladiator, but until they implement the changes regarding physical level and stat allocation I have very little motivation to switch between the two, because I have no interest in wrestling with the stat reallocation process.

The amount of people on is limiting too, but more so the rate of growth when you aren't exploiting leve's is just horrendous so usually I just wander around for an hour or so, see if I can find any new quests I haven't done, then log off for the next few days.

Mostly I am hoping that the changes coming in 1.19 improve the overal experience, I don't think 1.18 is going to touch the problems I have much beyond making leves harder to exploit.

Best thing I can suggest is look for a linkshell, I found one on the server forums here, and while I don't do much in game with them right now, atleast it gives me people to talk to when I am wandering around.

I hardly ever think about grinding when I'm actually grinding. I'm too busy grouped up or chatting with my LS and the time flies by.

If you are more of a solo-type player—I could see how it would be difficult to level.

I haven't been in a group since the first month the game was released, the lack of people just makes me feel more like I'm playing a single player game. Linkshells have also been hard to come by, most of the people spamming for members require an application process and it's just not worth the effort at this time.

It's not even that I am more of a solo type player, it's more that in the game's current form I don't even like changing classes.

If someone in my ls wanted to grind I'd be completely down for it, but right now most people hop on and do leves. And I will maybe muster the will to do them once a week, but the whole mechanic of the system just sours the experience for me.

I'm hoping that after this next patch my girlfriend will start playing again so we can duo stuff like we used to. And I have friends who are excited to try the raids. But when I hear "leve" I just kinda shut down.

Wait a few more days until 1.18 launches, where guildleves are being wholly changed to the soloist affair, and can also be picked up from the Atherytes too. The one thing I still want to know is if the 36hr timer is being abolished, cause the way it was worded, sounds like it may be.

patch 1.8 should bring a few more players in the mix.. also, patch 1.9 will change the way guild leaves work.... but not entirely sure.

I think I may know your problem.....what city are you in? Uldah was the only one with people there for a long time but 1.18 now might get people flowing in Limsa and Grid.
