Does anyone know if or when Lightning Strikes (2014) will be open again, I am a new player and missed the event from February???

I am sorry to say, but it is highly likely that the event will never return. It only occured twice because there were 2 releases of the Lightning Strikes game, one in Japan and one for NA/Western markets. Since the game is now fully released, there is no occasion for the event to return.

One thing we lacked from the events was the opportunity to get both gender items. With the upcoming Fantasias it makes sense for us to have a system that allows for exchanging the gender specific gear to the other type. Just putting that out there.

I wouldn't mind them re-hosting the event either though, personally I don't think I've found any better FATEs in the game than the Lightning ones.

I think the system in which you can reacquire event specific gear from Calamity Salvagers already does this. At the very least, I got the female swimsuits from the Summer event and was able to buy the male swimsuits from the Salvager if I wanted. Not a straight exchange, to be certain, but not completely inaccessible and quite cheap too.

Are you sure you can get the opposite gender items from the Lightning event from these NPCs? I thought you could only get 1.xx stuff from them.

Not sure about the Lightning Event, but you can get oppisete gender swimwear and stuff. its not Just 1.xx stuff, btw. You might be thinking of their old function. But they now let you buy gear from past seasonal events, unique and stuff. not just trade 1.0 gear in for gil/seals or whatever they used to do.

I can agree, I missed that event also, coz I bought game in February...but I think a lot of PS4 players would be happy to had a chance to do it.

I'm missing the most hairstyle of Lightning, I know it's available for Hyur atm, not for other races (my poor Miqo'te T_T). I just hope that they'll put once more Lightning Strikes Event in game or if not, some other evens in the future, where we can get every of rewards...

Awww, I had read somewhere that it might be opened up seasonally, but it makes sense that they would host it for the game release, although I also feel that as a newer player looking at possible gear to get a hold of, I'm kinda getting shafted on things that are good wears that I cannot ever get, I'm all for seasonal events but I like the idea of new players getting a chance to enjoy the gear as well, maybe make them available in different way in the future?
