I really want White Mage, Bard, or Summoner type classes.

What about if it's done like it is in FFX and FFXII, where the summon replaces your character in battle and you have full control of it? That has some possibilities for awesomeness.SMN class that essentially acts like a BLM as it did in previous games. Summon > Boom > goes away. That way it won't have to be underpowered as it was being an actual pet class. Or maybe have the option to keep summons out for less damage but they can buff/debuff and if you don't keep them out, you can use them for damage.
I'm almost afraid to say this, but it could be similar to WoW's Feral Druid, except with multiple summons you would have a lot more versatility rather than simply wearing a fursuit and mimicking other classes (not that I don't like furry stuff, though).
This. Only, call it Shepard. And dont bother giving us rentals. just give us this.Chocobo-handler. would be like a DOL, player would have abilities to raise chocobos and perform other chocobo related activities. some of their abilities could be Class-all so that at players who ranked up the job wouldn't need to switch if they wanted to ride etc. Could go on quests involving caring for NPC chocobos.
Time Mage would be awesome
Also an engineer class that requires you to have certain DoH leveled to unlock. Engineer could use mechanical arms, suits, and tools and would be an awesome DD.
I think this thread is a really good example of how badly SE designed and communicated the class system in the game to begin with. The class is tied to a specific weapon. In Japanese the class names are things like "sword user" and "lance user." However most people interpreted them to be like traditional FF jobs, which they were never meant to be. Now we will be getting "jobs" of sorts tied to these classes. I think this thread would make a lot more sense and be a lot more useful to the developers if it went something like
The class I want is : (name of class based on weapon it would use)
and I want it to get the job(s)...
(name of traditional / new FF Job.)
I'm so confused?!
Are we discussing Classes or Jobs?! @.@;;
Thread title says Classes, OP mentions a Job!

I realize how staves are used to. Symbolize magic proficiency and all, but can there be a class the uses the staff as a actual weapon, like the quarterstaff or the Chinese "Gun"? Throw in a minor in magic with en spells if it needs to that badly.
Ronin would be cool job.
Uses two handed swords with one hand.

Pretty much want to see every job from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance/A2 and Final Fantasies 3, 5, 11. Top picks would be Summoner, Bard, Dancer, Chemist, Time Mage, and Geomancer ... I'd probably have to reroll a Miqo'te for most of those for appearances alone haha.

It would be pretty awesome if summoner actually took control of the Eikon (Isn't that what primals are called officially?) personally and gain a new action bar with some of their skills on. So the summoner would assume some meditative state, and you'd have to release the summon in order to act, although I'm not sure how this would work in dungeon situations...
Perhaps they could have 2 modes, with the full control one being more effective but more risky.
Time mage would also be pretty awesome, if they got meteor in the end and some other space/time stuff I would LOVE IT.
