Book FATEs Need Improved Spawn Rates

Hello, everyone! How are those Animus books coming along? I'm on my 5th out of 18 right now (working on two weapons) and I have to say that some of the FATEs I need to do for them certainly like to take their time popping up. Let's look at what we know about FATE spawning mechanics, shall we?

This is understandable. If there are too many FATEs in a single zone but the one you want isn't up, you may have to complete those other FATEs first so the one you want has a chance to appear. That is reasonable. What isn't reasonable, however, are the abysmal spawn rates for some of these FATEs and the godawful common frequency of the other FATEs popping up. How many times did He's A Firestarter pop up while you were waiting for Return to Cinder, or how long did you have to camp for Everything's Better when the FATE is an easy one to clear in two minutes flat? If this is a joke, then I'm not laughing.

You know whats awesome? If you take their advice, you're screwed. I did just wait eastern shroud for about 6 hours until the FATE I needed finally spawned. However, as I wanted to do something while waiting, I was doing other Fates with a zenith equipped to potentially drop an ATMA (not that I'm planning to get a 2nd atma/animus, but it does feel a bit better to actually farm something else than a few gil). So I'm doing a Fate and it's roughly 1/1 (X/Y) from the Fate I need. The Fate I need spawnes, I get out of combat, switch to PLD, move to the Fate I need. It finished less than 30 seconds after it started. So realistically, if I had no group, I probably wouldn't even have hit gold if I was standing there right when it spawned and started to attack.


So now I'll have to wait another 5-6 hours and HOPE I can attack the mobs before they get aoe'd this time OR the people this time are kind enough to invite me.

I also waited for 4 hours yesterday no spawn. So yes, I wasted more time on this 1 FATE now that I used for like half of my ATMAs. It's totally ridiculous.



So if you ever want to complete those FATEs get yourself a group and camp EXCACTLY at the spawn, or you're going to have a bad time like I just did.



EDIT: Again, it only lasted around half a minute, but I did obtain gold and I just had to wait 2 hours this time. So I guess the spawn is kind of random at least.
