Using the virtual cursor to move it (L1+R3 and dragging) is definitely the easiest solution. But I want to further echo someone else and say that if you needed to use the touchpad, the correct command would be: double-touch(not click), and hold. That will put you in a dragging mode if you are in the correct upper right corner of the chat window. It's definitely not the easiest thing to do because the touchpad can be a little too sensitive.
