Who do we give our advice too?

I feel like this is going to be pointless because my warning was ignored before PvP was added but hopefully now someone opens their eyes and listens.

(Some ideas have already been said in previous post by other people. I'm not trying to take credit for someone else thoughts but are posted here because it needs to be worked on)

A long time ago in beta forums and somewhere in these forums I posted that PvP gear should not be in game. I knew that PvP gear would add a huge balance issue against new or returning players.

Right now the difference in i70-i100 players is huge. A lot of my friends started PvPing and they enjoy the 30's and 40's due to having a fair chance. When we do 50's they just feel like they don't stand a chance to groups even in i70 gear. This was my biggest concern because anyone earning their gear the legit way, waiting in long Q's, winning and losing matches, know that it's going to take forever to get i100 gear.

Since its here now and I don't believe they are going to remove it, what SE needs to do is make it easier to obtain or nerf it by taking moral off. Make PvP gear not have more DEF than PvE gear but do make it have more VIT but also not enough to make people use it over PvE (and even if they did, they would have to earn it in PvP which I doubt most PvErs would do).

Another thing we need to balance out is damage, cures, sleeps, stuns and interruptions.

Unless you're a SMN I really don't think many people enjoy playing the caster classes. If two or three people are on a PLD, WAR, MNK, DRG, BRD, these jobs still can put out damage while being attacked. WHM, BLM, SCH, SMN stand no chance to cast with 2-3 people on them, these preventing two jobs from doing dmg like physical classes can and healers from keeping themselves or teammates alive. This is why damage should be reduced, not only are people dying in less then five seconds but we also want to have a fight. Easy wins because you were able to burst someone down that doesn't have the experience gets old fast.

Heals should also be reduced or take crit heals out. A cure 2 is almost as good as a benediction when it crits.

Sleeps need to be reduced to 10sec max and follow the same resistance, while stuns should only work like pummels, a stun lock can easy have the healer use all their abilities to survive or dead. If they are lucky enough to survive chances are someone in their team is dead.

Interruptions should only be happening when you take a lot of damage, either a crit or a 250 potency or more type of attack. This would add some fairness to casters because even with abilities that allow you to cast while taking damage, with stuns the way they are, those abilities are pretty worthless.

Also the "Ranking" system needs to go out the door into an active volcano and be destroyed ASAP. Even though its not perfect bring WoW's MMR system in here. Winning is fun but we don't like taking candy from a baby. Give us even type of matches, those are the ones we like to brag to our friends about. Steam rolling or getting steam rolled isn't fun and many people stop playing because of the lack of challenge or a huge disadvantage.

Well we'll see how things go. As of now I will only be Q'd in 30's and 40's with my friends because even though we worked hard for our i70 set it feels pointless when being faced with i90/i100. Hope you guys are enjoying the PvP more than I am.

    Good luck and take care!

this is mostly all stuff that was brought up the first day PVP went live, so if they were listening then they already know.

One thing, casters are already ridiculous enough due to infinite sprint. That needs to go before we can talk about reducing cast interrupts. And intentional interrupting of specific spells is impossible since things go off even if you stun a caster 1/3 through the cast bar. Either way, good casters have no trouble getting spells off while being attacked.

Vertical gear progression was just a lazy way to keep us playing longer. At least there's a workaround via playing in the 30 and 40. I don't see how 70 gear is bad though, I got from 19 to 32 since 2.2 and I never had trouble killing all the rank 30s who came back for the new gear. I even know healers in partial i70 who do very well because they know how to CC and run, likewise I know i100 wintraders who can't play their class and try to tank hits.

    Skill > Gear; Always

If only SE had heeded the wisdom of Noblewar our PvP would be perfect!

Seriously, I think people take too extreme on the idea of higher geared players being cheaply over-powered. In my opinion, they're (new players) getting stomped because of lack of skill and not lack of gear. I do agree you shouldn't step foot into 50-bracket unless you are full ilvl70 (or close to it) pvp gear. After that, its seriously not that bad of a difference. It's usually because you lack the amount of skill, not because somebodies gear. I've never been afriad to see an extremely high geared player, and even then it's rarely a whole group (Assuming your playing in the lower 20 ranks, and by the time your in the upper 20's you get ilvl90 gear slowly to help ease that burden).

(Also when I say 'because you lack the amount of skill' it refers to everyone who dies. Not pointing at OP or anyone else specifically)

I have never noticed myself becoming over-powered the more I get geared.
