Why doesnt SE recruit ingame players as a special task force to stop rmt? Give these players free to play months as i guess pay. Under agreement rules they are not allowed to say they are part of such group or they can be suspended or banned. Everytime one of them gets pmd about rmt they can file a ticket with a proper screenshot with the player name and such and get insta banned. If they are to dispute the case. Just look up the ticket by player name and review the screenshots and written report by the task force members.

Some rules and limitations. The task force must have been pmd by the person. No he said she said type deal. That way task force members dont abuse there power and just bann and body they feel like.

I recall ffxi having under cover special task force and in my 9 years player. I never seen 1 rmt shout on that game.

then two major things happened after a few months lawl
One being mistrust grew against these players as rumors, screenshots and evidence of abuse of power, lying and cheating found it's way to the forums against these players. Whether they were true or not I sure as heck don't know, but the point is it caused lots of drama and discrimination of these volunteer in game moderators.
The other being the fact at least a good chunk of them did turn into self absorbed jerks lol i met quite a few and they always acted like they had a stick up their rear end 8D But ofcourse that statement is limited to only a few I actually met out of like a few dozen. Like the 8 or so I met out of the 30 or so my server had.
My opinion would be that if SE did something like this, then just have these players direct access to a GM or separate team that is not a general in game player to say "hey, RTM spammer here" rather than just give the player the ability to use the ban hammer lol

Because players are biased and don't have to follow strict guidelines. And if those players DO have to follow the same guidelines as GMs, the process will change 0%. They'll still have to go through everything the GM has to go through before banning someone. It's not so simple as seeing someone who is obviously botting then banning.

Point #1. The STFU were SE employees not Players.

Point #2. Not seening an RMT Tell your shout in XI in that time frame is a bold face lie. That would put of into the 2006 - 2008 when they had a massive RMT problem.
Christmas 2007 gil hit 75 cents per million on most servers avg was about $1 per mill. it was and economic meltdown.

Point #3. It sounds great in theroy, never works well in practice. your Police should never have something to gain or have motive to remove competition.

I know they were employees; never said they wernt. Xi gil never hit 75 cents a mil. As much useless as gil is now in xi it still doesnt get that low. Removing rmt is not compition. Realistically speakinh if i owned an mmo i wpuldnt get rid of rmts either and im sure se looks at it like that too.

Player A plays 24/7 has all the best gear to do end game efficiently.

Player B plays 2 times a week. Wants to do end game even tho noy efficiently so he buys gil and buys craftex gear that STILL allows you to do the content. Gets carried and thinks hes good so he buys another subscription. Win win for SE.

I played XI but not in the time frame you have or claimed to have played, so I can't really comment on that. As for SE seeing it the way you do, if they did they wouldn't be banning RMTs on a weekly basis especially in the numbers they do. If they did...I'm sure it'd be much worse spam-wise.

NO. I absolutely do not want this. I played an MMO where there was a player based anti-scam "police" which is close enough to this idea and it gets abused outright. I was a victim of this "player police" abuse and I am NOT going through that again.
I was threatened and harassed by these people and when I went to their forums to complain I got banned from their forums. This is a BAD idea.

If their only power is muting a bot that pm's them by limiting the amount of pm's they can send for the next 5 minutes , maybe. I would not trust anyone I don't know with more power than that
