    Turn 5 seems too difficult

Usually I wouldn't complain, but I've had no trouble with the game up until Turn 5, which seems utterly impossible, or too rough. Now, when it comes to mmorpgs I wouldn't label myself a hardcore, or casual player seeing as I believe at times I can swing both ways. Overall Turn 5 seems easy enough to me, its high risk, little reward but when I have to do it with 7 other characters I have no control over, and are just 7 other people with their own limits I think that is what makes this fight extremely hard, and beyond every fight up to it.

Every other mmorpg I've played I've usually tried avoiding parties due to things like this but this is the second of many mmos that I've actually reached end game, and I've enjoyed it for the most part. Although sad to know I won't be able to farm my gear from Turn 5 any time soon, I really hope Square does something to this fight to make it more "managable" because I would really like to continue enjoying this game.

No, is not. Is "managable". Much more now with the 15% eccho buff. Is a turn which requires coordination and teamwork. This is why is "hard"... If you think Turn 5 is too difficult, then you have no chance against Second Coil of Bahamut.

If you and your party know what to do, T5 has "simple" mechanics.

Honestly? I find T5 to be extremely easy with The Echo, unfortunately, I only just got in to a static recently, so I never got to experience it in it's full effect, but really there just isn't anything that hard about it mechanic wise.

Another person including myself were brand new to the fight, and a few others never fully cleared it, it took us only two days to clear it, first day we spent about 2 or less hours on it, and I'm not sure how many on the second day... but yeah, I had the entire fight down and was completely comfortable in only a few tries, and it was just getting coordinated with the DPS in certain phases that was the only problem.

this is really the biggest problem a lot of people cant seem to figure T5 out, I have been in various learning groups that can't learn conflags, and various twister groups which wipe on twisters. Its just all about finding the right party and hoping they all have the ability to learn then sticking together long enough to beat it.

Besides what used to be the best weapons, and some BiS gear prior to 2.2. Which are still some great filler/required pieces if you intend on working on Coil2, which puts T5 to shame in terms of mechanics anyways.

You're not going to get anywhere if you (or the party leader in general) don't set any standards for who you party with. It's not impossible to get 8 people together who can clear. It is impossible if you keep people who don't learn or react.

I think Divebombs (and not even the snake DPS check part of it)/Twisters are literally the only parts of the fight which are likely to kill people who remotely know what they're doing at this point.

    I'm the opposite.

I only recently started attempting T5 (through PF learning groups).
Hours and hours of wipes and I have having the time of my (FFXIV) life.

Each time we get nearer to our goal, and it's great!

My first attempt (with 7 other complete newbies), we wiped in the first 20 seconds.

I still haven't cleared it, and I've been in several learning groups now, each lasting for almost the full 90 minute duration.

I find satisfaction in knowing that I am getting better each time, and that I will eventually get there with practice.
Can't wait for the Second Coil.

I just wish that I could have experienced T5 before Echo existed.

Despite my lack of experience, Turn 5 is not too difficult. It just takes a lot of practice and coordination.

I won't lie, my group is having a severe problem with transferring into the third phase. We're dead by the first round of dives kills half our groups, even as we try to gather.

It almost feels like that dip is even more of a deathtrap to our group than an aid. One of us gets brushed and the rest of the group the gets sideswiped into the walls for an automatic wipe in the next passby. It's by far the most aggravating part of the whole fight for us right now, and if we can get that portion down without multiple deaths I'm confident we could win the fight.
