An old promise I'd like looked into

Yoshi-P a long time ago mentioned he would look into letting us solo lower level dungeons without a light party or level sync in the future (anyone else remember this?). I would really like to see if he would give us a response to whether or not this is going to happen in the future.

I myself would really like to grind out some lower level dungeons on my own for vanity gear but I can never do this in normal Duty Finder due to queue times and having to compete with other players for loot (plus I feel bad rolling on something someone needs just for vanity). I would have a great time enjoying stomping on some of the lower level content if the devs let us do this and I think it would help some players progress through the story in certain dungeons and trials without the ridiculous wait time on some of them.

It would bring a little life back into the game for me.

I'd rather see your vanity items being tradable, like the drops from Dzemael Darkhold.

I'd agree with idea under one condition: you have to beat it capped before you can run it solo uncapped. I think dungeons help players practice their roles.

Just like unlocking daily roulettes, I do agree this is a good condition. Although personally I think the dungeons themselves don't teach people much other than mechanics, but I digress, that's a good idea.

I'm against turning a MMO into a single player game, but for making low dungeon drops sellable on marketboard for vanity.

I've been teaching low-level players through new dungeons, including ones with no idea how to do their role before. The dungeons actually have a fantastic progression in terms of introduction of concepts that are used throughout the game, whether basic ones (wandering monsters, etc.) or ones used in more unusual mechanics for bosses later (stacking debufs, etc.)

However, it's not until Brayflox/Titan that the game really punishes players who haven't learned their stuff, so many players seem to get through with absolutely no idea they're even doing bad (because their healer's carrying them hard).

That's another discussion for another time though, I guess. There IS mention of some form of 'sub-light-party' content coming in 2.3, and it may be the ability to queue for dungeons with a sub-4-man party.

I would like to return to low level brayflox for the one piece of battlemage gear (body) that I never received after many runs. It would be great to do that solo so I would not have to rope other people in for many runs.

Haha, I am in the same boat. Looking for the battlemage robe since ages but I can't ask my FC all the time because the dungeon is fgn boring lol. If I go DF and the other DD is a BLM at that level, I also can't take it away from him just for vanity reasons.

I am only not sure how far you can go solo in a dungeon. Maybe unsynced it would work. Two weeks ago, I was in Sastasha for one of my Animus books and as usual, tank left directly in the beginning because he found Sastasha boring (doing Roulette and then be picky is so not ftw). Healer left as well at some stage after no replacement tank came in so it was two DD's, a BLM and a bard, both only there for the end boss. We managed to complete the dungeon till the end boss and then tried the "Bard kites end boss to Death while BLM heals" strat but it didn't work because the last boss hit us too hard. Three hits and both the Bard and myself were down, no chance with my lowbie Physicks skill lol.

So if there ever will be a solo dungeon, there must be adjustments made to allow non tank classes to eat more dmg, especially from bosses. I could imagine me and my healing choccobo in dungeons, really would love to be able to do so. Time will tell if we ever get that opportunity.

As someone that played bst main on ffxi... I would love to see a solo version of the dungeons.. I solod thf from 30-75 and all of bst and i amassed a HUGE fortune from doing it. Raid content however does need to be multiplayer.. <I don't consider dungeons a raid>. Plus sometimes I just like to solo stuff.. I KNOW for a FACT in the future if they don't level sync older coils... EVERYONE will be soloing stuff like twintania just because its fun to do. Just because you play an mmo doesn't mean you need to play with people all the time. I hope they do bring in a job that can solo current content... I miss my bst and my thf
