Technical difficulties aside, some things are just unavoidable.

But what's the point of the Duty Commence stream if all you're doing is rehashing information that's already known on the boards? You're forbidden from touching base on new content that's reserved for the 2.3 live letters.

Why bother pooling together the resources the time to run this if your superiors are restricting you so much?

Want to make Duty Commence more relevant and worthwhile, then Yoshi needs to understand the community does want more forward information. Yoshi is a busy man, we understand that, so the Reps are able to put out information a little easier and while they may not be able to cover ALL information and Some information is certainly more substantial than others, create a priority list.

Level A items are reserved for Live Letters
Level B items can be shared in Duty Commence
Level C items can be shared if certain topics come up in reference to them in the online community forum. Rather than rehashing things which are already common on the forums for a "special" stream.

Outside of that, the back and forths between you guys is entertaining to watch.

If they don't, wait until the next live letter. IMO I think that more MMOs should have community reps interacting with the community outside of brief responses in threads.

I'm not sure if you watched the last one that just concluded, I was, which is where this comes from.

Numerous times Bayohne was edging around certain things, but having to edge carefully, playfully, simply acting as a teaser. Which is just silly, we have the teases already, included in the Tokyo FATE earlier in the month, plus the announcement of the Live Letter that airs next week, with points highlighted on it. So what I'm proposing, is before they announce they are going to have a Live Letter with specific bullet points, that they instead collaborate within their own teams and determine, ultimately by the Director's approval, which information should go where, based on a priority list. For instance - Novus weapons, Ramuh, new Dungeon, Crystal Tower information. These BIG points for content should be reserved for the big segment of information, the Live Letter. Smaller (if it is, likely is) contents, such as the Daily Hunts, could be discussed during the Duty Commence, followed up later on the forums, so people have a taste of what we're expecting, without trying to lump information into the Live Letter, which would also allow more Q&A time between the Director and his players by Twitter and Forum comments, instead of limiting it to maybe 5-8 questions out of hundreds due to the limited amount of time they're giving themselves with everything else they want to cram into their LL segment.

Point is, right now, the Duty Commence is a bunch of banter coming from the 3 Reps (Still amusing, don't get me wrong, I laughed), but it's hardly worth the resources they're trying to funnel into it if they can't actually discuss upcoming content.

It's in video form for people who don't frequent the forums and see the announcements here, that's pretty much it. Can't really drop any big info with a live letter this close or else they'd run out of surprises for the actual live letters when even those already don't announce or show a lot.

Once again, you're expecting announcements from community devs. Think of them as an extension of the forums. Information, regardless of announced by community reps or not, comes from the devs. Although I do agree they need to make more time for Q&A.

Duty Commenced isn't for people who frequent the forums and scavenge the internet for info. They're there to recap on dev tracker posts that often fall through the cracks on this board.

But I do understand the disappointment with this particular episode. They kind of hinted at new info when they wasn't going to be any and they need to work on their pacing.

What was given away today?

I'll go back and watch todays episode before I make final judgement, but going off the first one I am really disappointed. No even remotely new information was given out and in fact no information about the game was really given that anyone didn't already know and I don't mean forum stalkers I mean anyone who doesn't live under a rock. The giveaways keep this show alive, but in today's day and age I don't think you can really do a weekly show without showing and talking about upcoming and recently released content.

I dislike Tera and Rift but their teams do great weekly shows by connecting with the playerbase and showing or taking about new or coming content not taking about what's happening on the forums or stuff everyone already knows about. If they're going to do giveaways I may watch depending on my schedule, but unless episode 2 is a huge jump from episode 1 doubt I'll continue watching.
