SE puts effort into content that has little player impact, yet we still have RMT & bots.
SE claims to ban accounts, yet clearly doesn't solve the problem because the same gil sellers keep coming back.
They should play the game & not rely on us to use a cumbersome reporting system. They will see the /tells, they will see the bots.

YAY!!! Now that's a lot of people to employ, Would you really want the job of being in one zone for large amounts of time to police the movements of all players.
Content is a totally different team from the GM's and Task force. no real correlation there. What your wanting is an erozea police state. very unrealistic to implement.

Not a claim since they actually do it. Don't you think it would be counter productive to make it harder to get in the game to put a check process in place
to make sure the same people are not coming back that just got banned. there isn't a company on the planet that is going to road block revenue.

I think most of the accounts RMT use are probably legitimate accounts that they have obtained access to illegitimately, or accounts purchased from players who have quit the game see RMT as a way to get some money back. Banning legitimate accounts is tricky business, since the original account holder is likely unaware there account has even been compromised. Once RMT have an account, new characters are created on various servers for specific purposes. Farming, Spamming, etc.

I think people generally underestimate how sophisticated RMT is. They know how to do what they do very well, and they have operations in hundreds of online games. They've learned over the years how to not get caught. Whatever you try to throw at them, they learn how to get around it.

what should be done is what I have said and others have said.

Make it where if they aren't in your Linkshell or Free company or Friends list, they cannot send you tells.

I mean we can go up to someone as use "Say" to invite them to friends or free company or Linkshell.

As for the shouting problem make it where NPC aka bot cannot shout, they should know who is human or not anyone pressing keys, wanna know how I know that, because if you were standing there afk when the auto kick was on then how did you get booted off to begin with, obviously you aren't at the pc moving anything so you get kicked after 30 minutes, bots are spamming same thing standing there not buttons automated shouts, I am sure they could do that.

I mean think about it, we all use "Busy" we aren't getting tells, so far I believe this now, its basically RMT trade route the tell system is, its no longer used to talk to each other without being spammed by someone you don't know and bothered and against tos because you are being harassed and exploiting the tell system for gain.

Yes they have been banning but never gonna work, it didn't work in FFXI until they removed the server in that area and IP blocked them and set up a very good filter system.


one last thing, I wish they would setup like this, I mute them and even if they change characters it remembers their location and keeps them muted, even if they delete and start up another.

A large part of that demand stems from the advertisement. They wouldn't be spamming everyone if it didn't work. Cut down the advertisement and the demand lowers.

That's basically the main issue really. They aren't really doing anything to make the RMT market die down. Banning the new wave of bots every week just to have new fresh ones the next day isn't really going to stop them. It is "convenient" to SE because they keep making more accounts. It's like if there was a massive plague in real life, and instead of working on the vaccines to eradicate it the companies all just sold a temporal ailment that you have to keep buying. I mean, it "looks" like they are doing something, but they are not really fixing the problem, just profiting from it while making it look like they are being helpful.

The "action taken against RMT accounts" are pointless but plague the lodestone. On the other hand "Actions taken against the proliferation of RMT activities" is something I have yet to see in this game. It is sad that F2P games have better RMT management than this game.

The drones have made it to Pheonix and are assimilating..oops wrong fantasy universe but seriously last month or so (since 2.2) the RMT spam has become insane on Pheonix
Twas such a nice peaceful world mostly free from this crap, now its spam all the time.
