    Fix your game

I need to vent, sorry if I offend any vets here.

    1. I am not going to pay a monthly fee to a game that constantly spams me with
"Buy our Gil and get power level blah blah" I am sick and tired of Asian farmers.

    2. Making me wait almost 30 mins to an hour to continue a quest while waiting for other players to join me to make a party to finish my quest line is not worth my monthly fee and time.

    3. You can take the free mount with the exclusive edition of the game and shove it cause I am stuck with #2 waiting and waiting and waiting just to work my way through the game in order to use said mount.

    4. Back and forth back and forth running to x do y and take back to z is lazy and yet another copy of every other Mmorpg on the market it's boring, and mindless which is why you have a problem with #1.

If you dont want the wait times roll a tank or a healer :P

Possibly transfer to a higher pop server

And the game isn't telling you to buy gil, the gilsellers are

    A few points.

    1: Not all are Asians.
2: Any popular MMO WILL have RMT. It comes with the territory. We can't prevent it more than we can prevent a snowstorm in Antarctica.
3: If you don't hang out in cities, the rate drastically declines. Furthermore, if you use the command '/busy', They cannot even send the tells to you.

They aren't 'making' you wait. You have been granted a tool that is designed to allow people from several servers to form a party and progress. And another tool to improve the ease of others on your own server to advertise. A lack of interest in the content means you need to be more inventive in how you recruit assistance, but only a small handful of quests apply (like i48 fight north of vesper bay).

Rather than pouting about your predicament, how about sharing the specifics. Where are you stuck, exactly, and what does it have to do with mounts of any kind?

Fetch quests is one of several types of options for simple progression in this game. Not only is it a staple of any popular MMO, you would struggle to find any that do not use the model on at least a portion of its content.

Again... Where are you stuck? Perhaps it is an issue in which we can offer assistance.

Judging by his level and his comments about not being able to use a mount, I'd say he's stuck on the Ifrit story-mode fight.

A tip to getting parties through the Duty Finder is not to restrict yourself to the language you speak - setting it for other languages (like Japanese) helps a lot, as it will have a far greater 'pool' of players to select from when creating your party. As long as you use simple phrases that are universal, along with the Auto-Translate function, communication shouldn't be too difficult either. But really, patience is the key here.

While I am disappointed about the lack of speed when it comes to removing gilsellers from the game, I would imagine it may hard to be completely rid of them as new accounts and characters are constantly used for the purpose (along with stolen accounts).

As for duty finder times, it is rather annoying having long waits as a DPS. But that is not something easily remedied by the developers since it needs to find players to group you with before you can do duties like Sastasha and Copperbell Mines. Try to befriend some people or join a linkshell and/or free company with people who are willing to help you. That's about all you can do to alleviate waiting times as a damage dealer, sad to say.

You just need to get to level 20 and join a grand company (and do a quest for the company) to use mounts. It is annoying to queue as a DPS and not be able to get a party immediately, but again; SE can't really control the populations of the players who choose to play tanks/healers/DPS and queue for lower level dungeons.

While the quests themselves are generally run from point A to B, etc., the writing is quite good and amusing to say the least, especially for an MMO that was built as fast as it was.

Many quest objectives in games (as a whole, not just MMO) are run from point A to B and talk to X, deliver Y, and/or kill Z, etc. It sticks out more in this one since it tells you exactly where to go and what to do I think. FFXI had it so you only get a very vague description at best that offers little in the way of explaining what to do (without using a wiki guide many players probably wouldn't figure quests out and would quit out of frustration), I like XIVARR's journal much better lol.

I can't speak for everyone, but the game is pretty well built. If you still have time left in your subscription try to get further in the story, it gets pretty good and it may hook you if you like stories in RPGs (likely the best story in any MMO to date). The duty finder problem is very annoying, but hopefully you'll have better luck getting in soon if you stick to the game.

All these complaints are valid, it's just that the good points of the game outweigh the bad and that's why we play. Can't do much about waiting to get a team together, it's just the way the game is designed to require a certain number of participants and certain composition of roles. Maybe in the future they could use a 'flex' system I've been hearing about that dynamically adjusts the difficulty of a battle on the number of participants available.

Fun fact. This doesn't happen on Tonberry (a JP server) and from what I've heard happens very rarely on other JP servers.

It's really not that terrible. There is a multitude of things you can do while you wait for the queue to pop.

People with Collector's Edition mounts can't use said mounts until they unlock their Chocobo. The reason you see low-levels on CE mounts is because they've already done the hard yards on another class.

Why do people care so much about these sidequests? They're there as filler as you level. They also have some little sidestory bits for those who like to read. Unfortunately, there just isn't the time or space to make every side-quest a unique encounter with some kind of boss mob or instance. This isn't Skyrim, this is a game that has thousands of people playing it at the same time all of the time. I for one enjoy the little stupid side-quests. Especially considering how quickly I can finish most of them. That's a major plus for me as in older MMORPGs after you've ground your way up to X level, you unlock quests that ask for more grinding. Say, slay X monster to attain X amount of wobbly bits, but those quest items only drop at a 1/4 rate so you're smashing monsters for an hour to get the damn things. SE clearly did the right thing in making sidequests relatively easy, despite them being little more than filler.

Tis like that on Tiamat as well. Have been playing since the first beta phase and can count the number of rmt tells on one hand.

As long as you play an mmo, rmt are a fact of life. Best thing you can do is just get used to it and ignore them, blacklist if it's one character annoying you with multiple tells. I don't know of any other way to solve that situation as it's present in any online game you play.
