Let's say 1.18 is vastly larger. 3x larger even. That still puts me at MAYBE 1.5 hours for patching (less time than the maintenance even) and they always let you start the DL partway through the maintenance. Absolute worst case scenario: Up and running 30 mins after maintenance ends lol
i avg 10-30mins normally on these patches.... so.. 45 mins to an hour tops for this probably less
but they give you 3.5 hours.... well more like 3 as the patch normally isn't up right away
I am a bit worried about it. the last time i tried to toss a patch into utorrent it sat there for two hours not getting any dht connections. using the official patcher was almost a 12 hour affair after that. Mostly due to the fact that just about every one was already done with the dl at that point and the seed pool was incredibly small.

This by no means should be the way to go, the patcher itself should download and install without any type of outside configuration from the user, that being said:
After I forwarded ports on FFXIV and their downloader I have not had any problems at all downloading any patch since march. Top speed always 6.0MB/s which is my internet connection. I would advised everyone to start getting information, manuals or help from friends on how to do that. It will save you a lot of time ^^ happy downloading
Wow. Seriously? No, no this has to be a joke. Right? I mean I can see you've put a ton of hours into the game so patience is obviously a virtue of yours.
Yeah, it's gotta be a joke because otherwise I'll have to show my age and start talking about the (not so)good old days of dial-up on a 26.6 modem.
Can We Get a toggle for that toggle?

Burning both of 'em.

My body is not ready.
Bah! Lightning fast, kiddo! Back in my day we ran at 600 baud, and the common belief was anything over 1200 would cause your face to peel off.
Does anyone else even remember when modem speed was measured in baud?
I remember the horrifying dial-up sound. Some nights I wake up in a cold sweat from a nightmare that I was stuck in the early 90's with shitty internet forever.
