Had an issue today in Bray HM were our sch refuse to progress through duty with us after her vote for duty abandon was rejected.

I'll leave the details out since that isn't what this thread is about. Needless to say I reported this person for their actions. I've been playing MMO's for over a decade now, in my expierence, when someone gets reported I rarely hear anything from it, or if I do it's several days later.

My suprise came when less than 20 min after submitting report, a GM contacted me about it. Getting further information about the incident, and letting me know that the issue would be investigated.

This is what I love about Square-Enix's effort for FFXIV, they're amazingly endearing of their customers and have made FFXIV easily one of the top 5 mmorpgs in my eyes. Really happy to be here.

This was during 2.1 before vote kick, vote abandon etc. Afkers in CM was all the rage and although GM took 40 minutes before responding to me, but at least they did so I will give kudos to that.

Now hopefully they get banned for a few days. I firmly believe if SE did temp bans early and often these issues wouldn't happen.

I've made two tickets about the behaviour of players and they were answered in 15 mins. I was quite impressed first time.

The GMs are really quick to respond directly to players. I hope they keep up the good work!

That is awesome I had no idea GMs responded that quickly. Last time I made a ticket in wow it took almost four hours for a response.

WoW has MILLIONS of players (6? 7m? I don't know what it's down to now) but point made. Even 6M players shouldn't be a 4 hour window to respond. I've waited 2 days for a response before quitting to play FFXIV and I haven't been back.

when I reported people for this back before votekick, I was told that it was perfectly fine for them to afk the whole dungeon.

more importantly I've reported PVP botters dozens of times and nothing has been done at all after months.

tbh this game's GMs don't even do the bare minimum. Nowhere near as good as what I experienced in other mmos.
