    Devs Don't make instances the only interesting dungeons.

    I was looking over the topic about the japanese forum post with the raid trap ideas. I would love for a lot of the ideas to get put into raids, it's definitely not something we saw much in XI and I'm looking forward to exploring all these dungeons with my friends.

    But some of the traps were bringing back memories. The doors in Garlaige Citadel and Eldieme Necropolis or the switches in sky. What I'm getting at is I want dungeons that aren't instanced and are made fun to explore. I hope that instances don't hog the spotlight. Instances may be great for that end game content and tough group content. But I loved searching for coffers for artifact quests in areas that were difficult to explore. I feel like making every interesting dungeon an instance takes away from the magic of the world.

    Currently we have dungeons-like areas in Thanalan, The Black Shroud and La Noscea. Don't neglect areas like this, make them exciting please!

    I really REALLY hope story areas, especially those involving high level Garlean technology mimic the Magitek labs of FF6 and ancient towers/giants of FF4. If only to hear Uematsu return with a dungeon theme such as Devil's Lab or Within the Giant.

    Absolutely agree with OP. Make the normal/open dungeon interesting and exciting too. And i think the mobs there should be with lower rank for the entrance dungeon parts.. also because those dungeons are near to beginner's area / city and they should be useful to make exp in there for low level characters too (for the initial coridors at least).

    Would love to see them soon. Also using that magitek flying device we see in the introduction..

    I agree that open dungeon areas should be more interesting, and hope it's part of the maps revamp we asked for and that they're supposedly working on.
