Harvest and sell:
- materials for high end food
- materials for leves
- shards and crystals
Spend some time watching the market board. I'd suggest watching lumber and food to start. I dont know supply/demand on your server so can't guide you to specific items but a little research will go a long way. As an example, buttons in a blanket. The recipe calls for 3 button mushrooms per synth. take a peek at both those items, check history and then profit![]()
It's not fast, easy money but if you spend 10-30 mins a day harvesting a good selling item you will see profits. Hope this helps a little bit.
Using the above as a base, find items that sell for meaningful amount of gil. Get 2 botanist retainer ventures going to increase your yield/hour for any notable 1-50 items. You yourself should prioritize any popular unspoiled nodes, such as for Crawler Cocoons, Spruce Logs, Trillium Bulbs, Thavnarian Mistletoe, Dzemael Tomatos (HQ only; NQ are generally low profit), and elemental clusters.
XI: Zeroblade, Titan Server
If you can't buy it off an npc and it's highly needed, chances are you can make a profit off of it. Flax has always been a decent steady income in the Lamia server and it's easy to obtain. Just watch the market and make good judgement.
lvl1 carbonized matter.. everyone who crafts needs 198 eventually for some quest turn in at guild if I remember rightly... maybe more. excluding there own personal stock.
and it seems at least on both servers I've been on people just breeze right by it after levelling out of its range.
and yeah flax is always in demand. as well as anything that allows weavers to make cloth.
strange awareness of ghosts that no longer haunt this shell.
To add to above, items for BTN quest and GC turn ins sell well (on my server at least). I make sure to sell the right number needed.
just go on the market board and search the names of starred items you can get and see if there worth it.
in my server water clusters go for 400-500gil each,so that's my bread and butter.
a little late to the party, but maps. Really it's the unhidden maps, but treasure map>unhidden map>profit I probably got around 750k combined between the 2 unhidden maps I have gotten so far.
im almost lv 40 botanist, and whenever i get to new logging nodes, i check the prices for each and get 1-2 stacks NQ and whatever i can get HQ.i normally sell foer slightly lower than market price because a full stack sells faster if its maybe 50 gil below, depending on the actual price and the amounts being sold by other people. in less than 20 hours, i sold 2 stacks of almonds and nutmeg, and whatever HQ i had of each, for 170k that i got while waiting for queue times with my BLM
