Interesting. Earlier I ran t4 in DF with 2 SB rings and a bracelet. Im a tank, ilvl 101 normally. Is it still wrong, even when I am far above the ilvl requirement if I were to unequip those pieces. Is it still wrong when I still meet the accuracy cap as well? I could understand if I had something that lowered my defense, but rings and accessories don't.

We hit enrage, so maybe the dps weren't properly geared either? On top of that, the group did the kill order at the end wrong, killing adds first and leaving 2 dreads on me and eventually leaving me with no CDs. So I could just as easily have called them out for going into the fight not prepared and not knowing what to do. The thing is, I can't, because I don't pay their sub, and theres no rule that states one needs to know the fight before entering. Just like theres no rule against what gear you wear, as long as you meet ilvl.

I agree that you should meet some sort of stat requirement instead of ilvl, but i don't necessarily think certain gear itself should be banned. My static and I should be free to do whatever content we want in whatever gear we want pre made style. maybe block certain gear in pug duty finder. The bad thing is, someone could just not have any rings except crafting, so they equip a 55 ring of crafting gear just to meet the ilvl. I don't agree with that at all. But if you are already over geared, I don't see the problem.

If you wanna spiritbind crafting/gathering gear, do like everyone else does and do it in Pre-formed parties or in Urth's Fount on the Water Sprites, don't waste 3-7 other people's time by forcing them to carry you in a dungeon because you want to make some gil or are too cheap/poor to buy the overpriced materia. There's also daily beastmen quests as well as leves if you want to spiritbind.

Personally I don't mind if people want to SB a couple pieces, but an entire set minus their weapon? GTFO, I don't care how skilled you are, that's just completely rude to everyone else in the party. Want your Craftsmanship Competence IIIs so bad? Go do it elsewhere and not in Duty Finder with random people, that makes about as much sense as jumping into DF trying to learn EX Primals. People complain about the bad/negativity in the game's community and it starts with people like this Dragoon who don't care about the people he's screwing over for himself. In a sense its almost exactly like real life but I know plenty who make it in real life without screwing others over and are quite highly respected for being who they are and doing what they do.

I think if you have even one point of craftsmanship, perception, morale, etc...then you shouldn't be able to queue for non-pvp duties.

I'm not SBing in DF but is that really so bad?

However I do think sone dungeons could use a higher ilvl to enter:

WP and siren's dungeon. Those are the only places so far where it seems like you can just die if you're under equipped.

Problem is, people associate ilvl with skill (which is why a lot of PFs on my server are crazy high because they "want a win"*). So, because people want to get their run of something, they goose their ilvl to meet that. In most instances you can get away with it, but in others (like the EX modes), you get sniffed out pretty fast.

As far as the spiritbonding thing, I've run CT in crafting gear before AS a challenge. Running that dungeon in ilvl 92 gear gets kinda boring, so if I go in with a bunch of FC mates, and they have no issues with it, why not?

That said, DF is not a "find me a speedrun" service. Busting through dungeons as fast as possible is ehhh to me. But, MMO players I guess.

*Which I'll note these are usually the ones that end up dying in said run.

Did you actually run the dungeon? If mobs died and you all lived, then it isn't your business what he is wearing. Yes, its stupid and obnoxious for him to do that, but if you guys are easily able to clear the dungeon then it doesn't matter. Mind your business unless things go bad.

Yet another dude who thinks DF was made to please himself only.

Everyone have the same rights as you to play DF as they want. As long as the duty is done, slow or fast, you cannot complain.

We have enough threads complaining about PUGs. No need for more.

You're right, if I want to watch an episode of Star Trek in between every single trash pull that is my right, I might also walk my dog after each boss because aerobic exercise is very important. Why can't the other 3 members be considerate of my needs?!

Just cause you picked duty roulette doesn't mean the other people did. The duty finder matches people reguardless of if they picked DR or they just queued for specific dungeons. There are not many exp type mobs in the game to spirit bond.

Its more of a problem with spirit bonding in general then people doing it in your duty finder run. Honestly the system should be reworked so that you don't have to use crappy gear and kill mobs that give exp with it on to get materia.
