No matter how much thought they put into a job, people are always going to half-ass it and either not learn it's rotation, or not move for skills and gimp their damage :/ Not pointing fingers, but look at all the bad mnks who don't move >.>
I want to see a new job that is made for final fantasy 14, these other jobs are something we have seen in other titles.
I would like to see some new idea's other than what we've had over the years, new game new job.
I mean I wouldn't mind even seeing Solider 2nd class and when you get to level 30, soldier 1st class instead of dark knight lol
I keep saying that I would love to have a completely original job but when I do people only shout dark knight and samurai at me even louder.

Like people said, BST will be nothing like XI in terms of being able to Charm a monster and send it after things. If anything Beastmaster will be like Summoner with certain pets (everyone having the same one) as Job abilities: a tank, a melee, and a range. But Beastmaster itself would be a melee and not a ranged character, least it won't be DoTs~ I played XI for the first time since 2002 with ps2 launch (had to quit cause of baseball in high school) with Seekers of Adoulin, I tried it just for Beastmaster. Was able to get it to lvl 64 solo without Books before Phase 3 beta started and man was it fun. The thrill of being able to take on monsters that would wipe me one-on-one either by tossing a strong mob at it or tossing weaker ones until it died, I solo'd the Banshee NM for one of the BST AFs by using Bats, took me around 2 hours but every second was adrenaline pumping, hoping not to aggro the magic pots or my hp to drop so low another Banshee or Skeleton would aggro me. Having to avoid the other Bats as I pet swap throwing Bats at this ghost that would wipe them after 30 seconds or so. Some of the most fun I've had with a video game was the Beastmaster mechanics. Sadly XIV will not be able to replicate any of this. Alchemist / Culinarian making Jug pets? What could be a nice boom to the market, Nope because we can't have Jobs using consumables like that.

I'd like to see BST return in FF14, I'm not sure if charming would work but a jug/ability based, melee pet class sounds fun to me. Especially one that could dual wield axes. The lack of difficult open world content would be a drawback but this time I'm sure they'd make it useful in groups, which the FF11 version never was, sadly.

BST parties were hugely OP though, so much fun pting up with 2 other BSTs and being able to xp faster than any other 6 man pt.

i been hoping see more beast master with a whip. my beleif is that give chance put blue mage in as well more add quistis style blue mage. before anyone jump concussion say i want them to be use whip on the pet i don't believe beast master should have whip on the pet more use as melee weapon. it rare to see exotic weapon like whip be use on enemies. i hope to see a simalar system to wow where you have lvl your pet and ability to keep the pet as you companion. I notice that some players would be fond this strucation. yoshi p said would do something silimar to the original bst if the for ffxi. my suggest is that have system like wow would attract players like the ability keep they pets and this also fun to see who could get best pet.this give alot good ideal personal home for beast master with stable and stuff. Players in ffxi has want ability keep they pets.

I wouldn't give it axes in this game. I'd give it whips.I'd like to see BST return in FF14, I'm not sure if charming would work but a jug/ability based, melee pet class sounds fun to me. Charming wouldnt work because the BST would have to be able to go into dungeons as whatever role it's been set to and square would have to design each dungeon to make sure it'll always have a monster to charm for BSTs. Plus there's always backwards compatibility issue with older dungeons and we all know SE's stance on backwards compatibility so far (we've already done it this way and we dont want to go back and change it because we'd rather make 'new' things).
Jugs or other consumables for making pets available to bst will also not work because the policy is not to have any job/class reliant on purchasing them from the market or npcs.
So that leaves having actual BST skills to summon pets. That has one problem. BST's appeal is wide variety of pets to use and if we have too many summon skills on BST, we'd essentially have less skills to play with at any given time compared to any other class. If we have too few, well, we'll have too few pets to play with! There's a wide variety of mob types in Eorzea and having a bst that can only have a couple little pets would be disappointing.
