How can this game not have built in voice chat?

Dude, if you want voice chat then go use a third party program. Not everyone in the game wants to talk, there are tons of people who are uncomfortable talking, or CAN'T TALK, have you ever thought about those people? What about people that can't hear either? How about players that can't speak a certain language well, but can type it just fine.

From what I've heard multiple times, Japanese groups never use voice chat, and they get on just fine... You don't NEED voice chat in an MMO, if you feel like it's necessary, then use a third party solution.

As for your ridiculous female gamer comment, this really applies to everyone, but because you mentioned females, you do realize there are going to be a bunch of guys being perverted etc because that's how immature guys are. As for bandwidth, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. If Square Enix provided voice chat, this would mean that you'd either be connected with P2P which would expose your IP to other players, or relayed through a server which is MASSIVE bandwidth costs on Square Enix for something that not everyone will even want to use, and the entire idea of the infrastructure for this gives me a headache...

We don't need voice chat in this game, if you want it, go ahead and use it. Personally, I use TeamSpeak with my static, but I don't want it integrated into the game.

every MMO I've played that had built in voice chat, the voice chat is either empty or has like maybe one person who's just yammering to themselves. Most people would stick to the voice chat their guild has been using for donkey's years or just not use it all. Doesn't help that most of the built ins I've seen have been absolute garbage.

... you miss the point completely, did you even read what I wrote? the PC side is fine.... but PC gamers have to interact with console gamers that have neither keyboard to type and cannot voice chat at all even with 3rd parties.

They are mutes... you take any amatuer business course or any team building course and one of the first things you learn is that communication is in most cases the most important part of getting something done. so again, stop using your limited personal circumstances.... and prey tell how I can use team speak to talk to PS3/PS4 gamers?

Oh really, how many MMOs use voice chat? how many NEED voice chat because half the playerbase doesn't have a keyboard or access to 3rd party programs to speak? I already know the answer.

Its funny how for some reason people only look at MMO's for voice chat and say its not needed yet every major MMO's end-game makes it a requirement, why is this game a special snowflake in this case?

I play on PS4 and used to play on PS3, I use a keyboard, and I use TeamSpeak with my static, so there's no "gap" here. If a PS3/4 player doesn't want to get a keyboard, then that's their problem, don't invite them into any groups that you think they need to type in. And if you want to know how you talk to PS3 and PS4 players with TeamSpeak, it's called having a computer... you know, the thing you're using right now? Just because we play on PS4 doesn't mean we don't own computers, you know? And you say, "well not everyone has a computer in the same room", well yeah... not everyone does. But not everyone does content that "requires" them to use TeamSpeak, now do they?
We shouldn't encourage women to do anything because women can do whatever the hell they want, if you payed attention to what I said, not everyone WANTS to talk... PERIOD. Dude, it's not denying a feature when you can just get a damn computer and use TeamSpeak! From what I saw, you haven't even cleared any of the Extreme Mode primals or coil, so why the hell do you even care about any of this? It sounds like to me you're just coming up with shit to argue with people at this point. If you want people to use TeamSpeak, then tell them to use fucking TeamSpeak, it's not that hard, parties all the time say they require mumble or teamspeak or whatever, go and join those if that's what you want, you don't need to add it in the game.

second most of the 3rd party voice chat programs also have mobile phone apps (heck I play on PC and I typically route voice chat through my phone/netbook to keep the demands on my PC down), otherwise the same people who refuse to use voice chat would still refuse to use a built in one. and the PS3 and PS4 can have a keyboard hooked up or there are periphireal addon chat pads for the controller (I have one for Xbox 360. I bought it specifically for......Final Fantasy XI) and some people don't have mics, so I guess they better run out and buy them because we need voice chat...can't play without it right?

So if your Guild/Linkshell/Free Company requires Voice chat for end-game (which you don't really need ) you have a few options, and that is really more of a "problem" with those sepcific groups, you could always find/make one that doesn't reguire it. and in the end even with a built in system your "problem" remains "unsolved" (because with a built in voice chat there is still the language barrier or how decent the actual signal transfer is)

The devs had to remove some elements from the UI when Focus Target is being used. That should already tell you that integrated VC for PS3 client is impossible.

where I live, we do not find keyboards available for PS3/4, why ? because there isnt a market for it. Might want to not take your case as being the case of everybody. what is available in a place isnt in another, also compatiblities enter into play. I cannot use US material, is not compatible with where I live ...even if I bought it outside nothing guarantees it will work.

So, please, before talking and showing ignorance, which isnt a fault I grant you this, make sure you have all facts straightand more so know what you say.

As for clearing a content, what has this comment of yours anything to do with the voice chat thing ? what you just showed in your posts and answers is THE BEST reason why chat voice should nto be implemented.
