Full str from beginning, tryed full vit still went back to Str and I'm having no problems.
It all depends what works for you, remember that.

STR is good in its ways. In end-game, unit control is really essential. This means, you must have the right aggroing power to achieve that, which STR provides. For example, I am an iLVL90 PLD(A) pure STR with the same gears with PLD(B) but he has pure VIT. The problem that occurs here is that PLD(B) has weaker unit control because he allot his stats to all VIT. And for my side, I need to control my enmity by not doing my Rage of Halone skill combo, thus reducing the DPS as PLD can offer. Although DPS roles can suffice the damage.
The next problem is, if a DPS party member has higher enmity output than yours, you'll be running around by controlling the aggro. If he gets the aggro, you'll run towards the enemy which makes positioning disrupted.
Even I am stating a PLD as an example, still WAR and PLD has the same role and must be fulfilled right within a party.
I am glad tanks are starting to come around in their views on STR. Obviously you want VIT, but at a certain gear level/hp level you can really start to swap into STR.
I would say the stat bonus is the last thing I would switch to STR though since its a 1:1 swap, where as Accessories can often provide better DPS benefits.
Just Start with VIT and slowly switch into STR once you get a feel for how much HP you and your group needs.
during lvl, go full str and use str accessory
at 50 switch to vit

I've done everything as a 30/30 STR spec warrior except Coil 2 (My main job is dragoon). A few complaints on Leviathan Ex my health pool was "low", but outside of that no issues. I don't see 30/30 STR being much of a problem in Coil 2 either (up to turn 8 anyway...haven't tried 9 yet).
Rafflesia doesn't hit particularily hard. Melisune and her adds aren't too terrible (unless offtank winds up with two dancers). Avatar would be tricky for a solo, STR spec tank, but I believe it was SE's intent for this to be a two tank encounter that the players found a way around. STR offtank + STR accessories can do well here.

Rafflesia doesnt hit that hard but the Super Slug definately does. Our OT WAR gets demolished everytime he winds up as OT during P3. We have recently just decided to do a tank swap during LeafStorm in order to have me (PLD) deal with the SuperSlug so i can HG.
Is this common? Do any of you guys OT as WAR during Super Slug? Or is it pretty much a PLD's game at that point. Our WAR put up everything and the kitchen sink and still gets dusted (Thrill, Mega Vit Pot, Vengeance, Forsight, sitting at 15k+ HP).
Is it not possible or is it a healer ballgame to keep him up?

We just burn Rafflesia down. Our warrior keeps emnity on the small slugs with steel cyclone, flash, etc and will also attack Rafflesia as possible. The paladin will use hallowed ground roughly when the four vine chain happens to put less strain on the healers.Rafflesia doesnt hit that hard but the Super Slug definately does. Thanks for the tip i'll def use HG around that time. As far as OT War Super Slug method is that pretty much a nogo? The Burn strat is nice but i've heard its harder to beat the enrage than the Super Slug.
What we do is have our paladin off tank, we found out that the 10 stacks build up rather slowly so we have the dps burn on raffle then (so paladin can grab hate at his own pace) when its time to nuke the ever living daylights out of the slugs we have everybody transfer damage onto that slug when it goes super and he HGs.
I as the static warrior just handle the burst damage of swarm from raffle with inner beast and I can do it quite comfortably. On the third phase there's no tank swap required. Basically slug does a lot of constant damage which paladins are better at dealing with and raffle at that point does burst damage which warriors are better at dealing with.

I don't think it matters either way you spec, the extra DPS isn't needed but neither is the extra health.
