Thaum vs BLM

Been playing as a BLM, really enjoying the class, but I'm curious about playing around as a Thaum instead of a BLM (I'm at work now or I would just do this and see for myself). Curious to see if others have done this and what they thought. Sure I'd lose Flare, but the cross skills I would be able to pick up - Blood for Blood (basically another raging strike to use) Internal Release (Crit chance 30%) and of course Raging Strike. These buffs seem like they might be fun to toy around with. What I don't know is if there's some sort of stat benefit to being in a job vs a class. Curious to hear what others might say on this.

Blood for Blood gives only 10% damage increase, while it's still something I don't think it makes up for the stats you lose from your job.
Same with internal release, only monks get the +30% crit chance other classes get only 10 out of it.
All in all I don't think it would really help all that much with the damage to be worth the hassle to use additional cooldowns to make up for the stats you lose.

So.. you have almost all classes/job to cap.. and you still haven't seen the HP/MP/Stats boost from switching between them..

So, In order to get the Fun factor, i'd say yes, try it out: if you still know how to dodge Titan, even with lower stats, it will work.

Then you will see for yourself the difference.

Make sure you are in a FC/LS/PF that knows what you are trying to test, for fun only.

You wouldn't have access to Convert, Manawall and Flare, and those are some of your best skills.

The INT you lose from taking off the crystal is worth more than BFB (10% damage boost, 25% damage increase to you) and IR (10% crit increase).

Then you lose Convert, Freeze, Flare, and Manawall.

Yeah, the crystal is way more important...


And yeah, BFB is 30% damage increase for DRG, IR is 30% crit increase for MNK.

You lose Flare /not worth.

Plus you can't equip your relic or any af/af2 gear. Though you can use i100/i110 and allagan gear. So really not worth those miniscule buffs.

Sadly I didn't know about the relic and stat changes, not sure how that's possible, should have preempted this by saying I'm an idiot. Thanks for the feedback

coincidentally, I was thinking of doing my self on THM but thought it would be more fun on Marauder.

If the time arises I would only do it on dungeons I'm overgeared for, WP, AK and the sort.
