Can anybody explains me this, why Summoner have achievement called "Green Eyes" ?

Green Eyes? what does that supposed to meant?

I don't really get it ... I looks others jobs achievement example

Paladin - The True - ok, this one probably mean "Royalty", royalty true to the King, Queen or Sultan/Sultanate etc.

Monk - Coeurlfist - The name already tell it, Monk learn the move and form from Coeurl as in real life Kang Fu, they learn move and form from wild animal, Tiger.

War - Ironeater - I dunno actually this one but its sound intimidate enough, worth title for WAR I guess.

Black Mage - Starcaller - Its name of BLM relic, no more to guess.

Scholar - The Strategist - By lore, Scholar is military strategist so its already correct.

Now now now now now now now now

    Summoner!

    Wat!?

Green Eyes!? what the hell is that? wait ... my eyes is blue!!! Green eyes what!???? come on, give me Blue Eyes! will ya?

I don't get and probably never have a chance what is "Green Eyes" meaning ....

If anybody can elaborate, would be appreciated

P.S. I look at you SE dev team >.>

The summoner's relic weapon once belonged to the Allagan summoner Wiyu, who was said to have green eyes.

There. It's quite simple, really. Just pay attention to the quest's text when it plays, instead of speeding through it.

Actually why should be "Green Eyes" exactly?

Who have white eyes, red eyes, blinded eyes or sexy eyes, who care

Why SMN should have "Green Eyes" title? Green eyes is special power for SMN?

The face all SMN didn't have "Green Eyes" visually on them

This is actually my question, excuse me~ if my question is misleading

Why don't we get title "Primal Evoker" or any name that relate to SMN instead of this "Green Eyes"

The reason behind "Green Eyes" is because, Wiyu, the woman who owned the artefact weapon, was a very famous female summoner in her time, who had legendary green eyes.

You are taking up her mantle by carrying her book, her legacy - so you are given the title "green eyes" as reference to her, Wiyu.

This book is also a reference to final fantasy tactics, where I believe Wiyu is also mentioned in a similar light to XIV.

I guess I had been unnecessarily sarcastic, so pardon me too.

In any case, Kyan has answered your primary question. As he mentioned, the Veil of Wiyu is itself a reference to a legendary grimoire from both Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy Tactics A2. In all three instances, we aren't told much about Wiyu. I believe, though, that it's only in FFXIV that she's said to have green eyes.

And, if I'm not wrong, the summoners of Final Fantasy have almost always been associated with the colour green, especially Rydia of FFIV. In that sense, the colour of Wiyu's eyes, as well as the colour of the summoner's AF gear in this game, are merely the latest iteration in a long Final Fantasy tradition.

What I'm curious to know, though, is the reason behind the dragon motif in design of the summoner AF gear. The evoker/summoner robes bear vestigal wings as well as a "tail", while the evoker/summoner's horn completes the allusion to a dragon. It makes me wonder if it's a distant reference to Bahamut, whom the Allagans so famously imprisoned in Dalamud.

I can hazard a guess. The gear is from the traditional origin Allag SMN - and so much of the Allag-related gear has dragon references hidden all over it.

Accuse me of seeing things if you will, but...

Three claws, real horns, magitek horns, wings.

Bahamut's face in the legs (both magick sets)

Dragon wings on the back (most/all(?) body pieces)

Bahamut's three-clawed hand across the face, possible palm across the head, wings in the lower back

    Bahamut's Claws

    Coincidence?

Thank you both Kyan and TinyRedLeaf

    Appreciated for answer

But oddly enough, even Rydia does not have "Green Eyes", only her cloth is greenish

We know Wiyu is famous SMN that have "Green Eyes" but we never see her face or any cut-scene that make her appear or anything

The Green Eye's question has already been answered so that line of questioning is complete...

You ask about the dragon motif.... The Summoners horn has been in FF lore for a LOOOOOOONG time. You can say the most human summon in FFIV was Asura, and she rocked a horn while in the battle screen. The Summoner's horn was part of the job lore in FFXI, in FFIX Eiko wore a horn and there was a connection between it and her moogle buddy. So that part is more about the horn than that of a dragon.

As far as the body piece having dragon like aspects. I disagree... I See the wings and tail on the body piece being more reminiscent of Moogles which there have always been a connect between summoners and moogles. The wings are golden moogle wings, which are also short and stumpy like so...

Now the Allagan gear... sure I agree with you. But the AF gear... no way, the horn is FF lore, and the wings are moogle references, and I would assume the Summoner will eventually get a Moogle Companion (not a egi) but a companion exclusive (one that can be cross utilized, like the white mages getting their unicorn)

On a side note, the french name for the Veil of Wiyu is 'OeilVert' which means Green Eye

This encouraged me to take a much closer look at the SMN gear, as the wings are similar in size and shape to moogles'.

I dunno if I'm just looking for dragons and finding dragons, but...

Again, accuse me of seeing things if you will, but the SMN outfit has the same cold trim around the edges that the Binding Coil stuff does, so I'm just gonna go with it. Doesn't the summoner horn mirror Bahamut's "crown" very closely? One large horn (red for SMN, gold for Bahamut) with two smaller horns (gold on SMN, real horns on Bahamut) and two triangular wedges on the side of the head (gold for SMN, magitek for Bahamut)?

Also I'm pretty sure I see little dragons on the SMN waist, but that one's way more open to interpretation, lol.
