So apparently this goofball is still at it. I was spiritbonding and saw his character walk up to me using Stealth, then proceeded to spam crying and cheering emotes, followed by dancing. This was right after they were seen by a FC member doing emote spams near them in another map, so this tells me that it is a deliberate action to be following not only me, but probably...

I'm told he does it for role play purposes.. And gets upset when people don't respect his RP. The problem is not everyone rp's and you can't force them to do such.. :\

I think everyone is just going to laugh at them.

There are irrational women everywhere who watch too many movies that are weirded out by guys they do not find attractive who have expressed their interest in them and meet these guys on a pretty regular basis in real life. You can't just, like, ban that person from your workplace just because you don't like them.

These women just ignore these guys and tell them off whenever they bother them... It's not rocket science.

I'm sorry, but I had to bold that ridiculous shiz. I'm not a woman, so I'm not going to claim to know what it's like. But as I can imagine, they deal with physical and sexual harassment on a much more regular basis in real life than we do. Stalking as well. Anything that you've seen in the movies can and already has happened in real life thousands of times over. Never has anyone gotten hurt or endangered for being too careful in this situation. The opposite can't be said.

I don't blame anyone for taking what may be labeled 'extremes' to make sure it doesn't happen in the virtual world they want to be a stress reliever in their life.

You are right that often the difference between "aww that's so sweet" and "stop looking at me like I'm a steak dinner" is how "into" the person you are, but that doesn't mean that all men are completely safe. Those movies you speak of are probably something you saw on lifetime, and they are all based on true stories. TRUE stories. There's a saying circulating around because of the "Yes all women" movement - Men are afraid women will laugh at them, women are afraid men will kill them.

There's a lot of really great guys out there that can take no for an answer, but the guys like the one the OP is talking about - you really just can't take chances. The OP did the right thing in getting away from that person. I just hope the next target is as smart. People like that are unstable and it has nothing to do with "women watching too much tv." Frankly, that comment is a bit of an insult.

File a stalking report to your local police station and forward to Square Enix (signed paper letter, return receipt) a copy of that. It will be assured they will think twice about do that again in their IRL.

This is a very bad idea, cops have far more important things to do than worry about toon stalkers.

If he shows up on your front porch that is a whole different priority.

Make a GM ticket, this falls under player harassment and if you've made it clear you don't want the person to contact you the GM can pull up the chat log and give an official warning to the player, or possibly a suspension.

This is the best and only way to go.
Keep sending in reports, and make sure that you make then thorough. Give the GMs all the information, including timestamped copies from your chatlog wherever possible.
Also explain clearly to them that this particular player makes you feel uncomfortable.

Only if you want another server to deal with his kind.
Personally I'd rather see people like this removed from the game, permanently.

As others have said, unless the OP knows who the person in real life is and there's a good reason to believe that there are life threatening factors involved, which in this case is fairly unlikely, there is nothing the police can do.
They probably won't even write up a report for it.
