Does anyone else think the login screen could use a tune more specific to the game? Everytime I log in I end up with Vana'diel March playing in my head and while the FF theme is great I don't associate it with just this game.

I'm sorry if this comes across as harsh, but Square Enix can't win - originally Soken was going to do exactly as you wished and have a unique track playing on the title screen (part of a track listed on the OST album as Serving the Light), but for various reasons during the Alpha test players complained en masse about this and demanded it be changed to a 'traditional' FF track, and hence Soken accepted the feedback and gave us that lovely slow rendition of the Prelude instead.
FFXIV is a FF game - and a FF game that references and celebrates all the FF games that came before it - so the iconic Prelude is definitely fitting (and the final word is the Prelude also was used as the main title music for version 1.0 as well so there's that link too).
I, for one thing, kinda miss the old 1.0 prelude, kinda more fitting than the current one.

I think FFXIII (if I'm not mistaken) had a different theme playing at the title screen, and I remember being completely devastated. Somehow I simply expect that theme when I start a FF game, and hearing something different was...strange.
Also (if we are talking about the soundrack) "prelude - rebirth" is definitely a bit generic, but "prelude - discoveries" is an amazing track. It starts with the classic prelude sound and then builds from there. I believe that was also the track playing while installing the beta for 2.0 (at least on PS3)?
