I cant help myself, this looks like perfect planned kick of hate to the product when it tries to climb up. Its just kicks ffxiv title backward.

Ahah. MMORPG.com has their collective panties in a bunch about receiving criticism on this ill-advised review, it seems
Have fun checking the thread and see if I wrote anything that could be indentified as trollingDear Abriael,
You have been issued a temporary ban by one of our moderators.
Category: Trolling
Span: 07/18/2011 - 07/18/2011 23:59:59 [1 days]
Reason: Posting excessive negative comments or baiting others to respond in a negative manner is considered trolling on the MMORPG.com forums.
This temporary ban was generated from the following post on our discussion forum:
Thread: Final Fantasy XIV: Final Fantasy XIV: The Official Review
http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cf.../thread/321387
Not only they lack integrity in their review, but they also lack the nercessary integrity to accept the criticism coming with it.

lol wheres my temp ban then, gotta keep trying lolAhah. MMORPG.com has their collective panties in a bunch about receiving criticism on this ill-advised review, it seems

Ouch , no freedom of speech ?! You didnt say anything harsh.
This alone just more convinces me, that the review was rushed out on purpose before the patch release to provide bad review at the end.
Anyway fact is the game didnt improve much with 1.15, etc. These were more over minor and major fixes with some little addons. In the end UI is still bad with flawed design, imo.
mmorpgs:
If they re not complete jerks, they will update the review as is told here in the future. We feel we’ve waited more than long enough to give FFXIV a fair shake. Check back with us later this year for an update after those changes are live.

Simply said, my arguments were too compelling and solid for them to allow me to state them further. No one likes to have their lack of integrity exposed so evidently, and it takes further integrity to accept it
It could be a nice theme for an editorial, but honestly I'm too busy actually informing my readers to waste my time further exposing an amateurish website that can't even take some solid criticism (or implement readable graphics, but that's a different matter).
I'll just re-review the game myself when the time is right (probably after this round of patches), since my editors greenlighted a regular space for MMORPG re-reviews. Now it's EVE online's turn, then Age of Conan (since they both had very relevant updates that warrant a new review). Probably around the end of september it'll be FFXIV's turn.

Actually, if your website and your columns have a strong readership, I think it would be wise to post something about it. I honestly don't think it would be surprising in the least to most who read it, considering how pretty much everyone I know or have spoken to who visits mmorpg.com has the same opinion of it.Simply said, my arguments were too compelling and solid for them to allow me to state them further. That they would issue you a temp ban over that statement tells me you struck a bit too close to home and so they felt they had to shut you up, as you stated. Though it is odd they didn't remove the post itself.
Just make sure to keep it to supportable or otherwise readily verifiable facts and try to avoid anything that could be interpreted as bashing or flaming, this way no one can dismiss it for just being an angry rant-fest.
I see it this way, they can "shut you up" on their forums. They can't "shut you up" on your own turf. Give 'em a taste of their own medicine, post your thoughts on the review and on their tactics, say all the things you've said on their site and more. Point out the factual errors in the review, call out the peculiar timing of the review, etc.
I don't think it would be a waste of time at all. They seem to have this air of feeling "untouchable" over there at MMORPG.com. I think they need a kick in the ass to knock them back into reality a bit.

Not surprised at all. MMORPG.com is extremely hyper-sensitive to any open criticism of themselves, their articles or anything to do with the site. So, yeah, criticizing them for just about anything = instant warning/ban.Ahah. MMORPG.com has their collective panties in a bunch about receiving criticism on this ill-advised review, it seems

Even when you're not trolling, flaming or whatever, you have to be careful of how you word things over there. It's, by far, one of the most uptight and thin-skinned website staffs I think I've ever come across in all my times on gaming sites. Actually, scratch that. They're definitely the most uptight and thin-skinned. At least that's the case on the forum/moderator side. Some of their columnists are actually pretty stand-up folks, can take the hits and fire right back.
I've been issued warnings for saying absolutely nothing out of line. A moderator read it, completely missed the context of the statement, somehow assumed it to be a troll or flame of some kind and decided it was offensive. I got a warning for it. Trying to correct them on the issue only results in their Community Manager essentially rubber-stamping the warning and confirming it as valid.
