a bad review about a game in a terrible state.Whats the big deal.
Sure thins can turn around (hopefully) but going there to argue that gods exist and he is coming in 1.18 is plain absurd.
MMORPG.com have always been like that,im actually glad they said something bout ffxiv at all.

No matter how biased the reviewer opinion might be, or no matter how bad the timing might be.This crusade in defense of ffxiv is definitely popcorn material.

I was going to post pretty much the same thing, lol. Like it or not, FFXIV made its own bed and has to lie in it. I don't believe in this MMORPG.com conspiracy theory. Furthermore I can't see MMORPG doing any more damage to FFXIV than SE has already done thus far.

I think some of you should like at the bright side, had they reviewed it a couple of months after release it probably would have gotten a 2 or something. (if you're the type that's so hung up about a game's "score)

We dont care about the score its the fact that it was released 4 days before 1.18 which is a major patch and the first of the game changing patches, in september would have been a more logical time to review it at least after 1.18, but not 4 days before a major patch

to be exact , the resume is pretty on the spot for when the review was written , in fact i seen a lot worst.There is a lot more wrong that does not get mentioned there.

If you don't care about the score they gave then why does it matter if it was written a few days before a patch. What would you say if they re-review it in a week and bump the score from a 5.1 to a 5.5 or something?

While they are able to moderate it looks to me as if they are hiding somthing for not replying to what I said, its basic psycology that if you are scared you will try to silence somone for getting too close to the mark. If they had nothing to hide human nature would have been to reply to my legit questions, then warn if i throw anymore accusations around they would ban me, that is how I would have moderated it rather than the scared instant ban hammer, indecating they have somthing to hide

maybe that's how you would have handled it, but if you were a moderator on one of my old sites you would see your moderator status removed for doing so.

if they had responded to anything in your post when this statement was a direct attack on my site i would have not only given you a temp ban, but i would have given you a perma ban and removed whoever responded to you from moderator status. whether you intended it or not it was a direct insult to the site and they have no reason to respond to you at all. i can't believe a statement like this could have been made and not be meant as an insult though.

LOL. Please. Like the claim about a "poor plot" when the reviever quite evidently saw only the first cutscenes for each city and nothing more.

It's a rollercoaster of laughs to see the usual haters (that are seemingly insanely obsessed with this game, since they can't seem to be able to just move on with their life and continue to haunt the forums to spew some more venom day after day) bending over thrice to defend this farce of a review. Not that they even read it. The score is negative, so it MUST be defended at all costs!

I can point you to lots of X10 times worst reviews right here in this forums that are all pretty much spot on,
from players who played all the way to 50, so that "he did not play long enough" is a double edged sword as an argument.
Im not going to lower myself to discuss about "haters" and "fanboys".old argument is old.

to me that score is a positive.

If they were to re-review the game a few days after the patch, having navigated some of the dungeons, both r30 and r50 along with the rest of the new content, then they would save a little face. However it doesn't save the original review and it's lack of attention to facts from being just plain bad journalism.

They are not spot on when they label auto-attack as a rumor. They are actually driving even more people away by not acknowledging there is a patch in a few days after their review that could very well give them what was missing.

The poor research actually did more harm than most people think. Whether it be their ignorance or the fact that SE doesn't sponsor MMORPG.com. This is the way of the reviewer. Lazy, incompetent opinion blogs with bias written throughout the pages.
