Dark Matter, does these still matter anymore?

Up to now, the usage of these stuff are getting kinda useless, especially since npc can repair up to 100% condition. And till now, we can't even repair others too.

Back in 1.0, having repairs have quite big benefit. You can get quite income for repairing others, and npc only repair up to 99%, forcing players actually dependent on others who has the ability to fix your stuff.

Back then, I don't have every DoH class high enough to repair stuff. But now in ARR, I have capped them, and felt the repair feature are getting looked over. I don't even bother repairing gear myself even though I could. What's the point? NPC now can repair fully, and money's not really big deal anymore.

Also... back in 1.0, in dungeons when there's players who forgot to repair stuff, he/she can change to DoH and repair themselves, or have others help you for it. Now? players are totally screwed if they forgot to prepare their gear conditions.

All of these come to this point: Do we still need to keep some DMs? Either make the repair feature back where it used to be or improve it, or... just remove it completely.

I have enough crafting 50s to repair my own gear but SERIOUSLY SE WHAT THE EFFIN' DUCK?!

Have you people ever TRIED repairing your own gear? It takes forever to switch classes for every single mitten and spear.
100% NOT worth anyone's time over just using a mender with one click.

p.s. Thanks for making leveling these crafts next to useless!

No I have nothing good to say about this system it's the worst part of the game right now.
Also doing it yourself doesn't save you any gil and wastes inventory space so... no... just don't even try it kids.

I sold all mine. Why switch to 5 different classes to repair 5 different pieces of gear when you can repair it all in 2 clicks for pocket change.

Its just another way SE is making crafting absolutely useless

I think it would be cool, but at the same point a major pain. Not all your armor is made by the same class, so you'd need to get multiple classes to repair a single character's gear set.

Only to the super frugal they do. Think it was a bigger deal way back when it was stupendously hard to make gil.

For the record I voted that they make it where any class could repair all gear like they have it now with the NPC. Sure it isn't close to realism, but it would be nice if we could bring up the repair menu and repair all just like we do with the NPC.

And when I say voted, it was during the players poll back in the day. I'd like to see them do another one now that ARR is released.

Even back in 1.0 I only ever repaired to 100% if I was going to try and sell the item, or it could be stored in the armoire (even then rarely, I'd usually just stick it in my retainer's inventory). Never saw much use for player repairs, always saw it as functionally useless then as all 100% repair did was make it sellable/tradeable 99% and not having to track down several different crafters and carry around several tiers of dark matter was far more convenient, and even if one crafter class could repair all gear, still would be kinda useless.

The most painful for self repairing is when the gear not less than 50% durability, most likely a dark matter (80G) cost more than the repairNPC.
Moreover, it wastes a lot of time to select which gear to repair, as you have to switch classes and find the gear from a long list.
If you select repair all, those 99% will cost the same as 0%.

Before 2.2 I still had repair myself but since 2.2 I have not do it again.
To be logical, SE could you please give some advantages (or just a reason) for self-repairing?

Not really. Repair fee might be not much back in the days, but it does makes quite a profit when you run around and ninja-repair players. lol

    I miss those days... XD
