People are impatient and expect perfection in the DF sometimes though. That is where most of the problem is. I don't see people changing anytime soon though unfortunately.

sadly some fight even with a video, you will not get it...take T5, i'm sure most of the people that have clear it will admit that the dive and twister take some time to understand how it work. because this two mechanic are simply invisible. it's was a way for SE to increase artificially the difficulty of the fight. why? because hardcore gamer ask hard content.
same for titan, even if you look video, you will know the fight, but did you master it? no, it will take time for get it perfectly. why? because one more time SE have up artificially the difficulty of the fight by making plume or stuff be able to avoid if you react directly, if you don't... it's death!video show you the step, but do you have the timing for do it? no, it will take time and time and time and time for get it!
Echo don't help for master this. since most of this mechanic are simply insta death.

    T5:
    - get hit by the dive => often bump into the limit of the arena... insta death!
    - get hit by the twister => insta death
for titan almost every stuff is insta death.

and it's where the game don't involve skill. is not skill to learn a script and respect it. what make a good player, it's him capacity to adapt at the fight and what come... most of the fight in FF14 don't involve this. you know at the advance what will come. all you need it's to be able to know how to avoid what coming. is not skill... we need to be able to adapt to what will happend, without know what will come next!

but sadly, that out of subject. the new player are doomed to play together only and spend countless hours of pain with veteran in roulette. because, they haven't place an ilevel sync for lower dungeon... we have it for all the dungeon before 50 but not there.
and finally, veteran don't want to play with new player... one example: early on ragnarok a pf that was asking i92 for t5 and the achievement of clean X10 or 2 T5 weapon. you will say, they are free to do what they want... but it's a perfect example of the mindset of a large part of the veteran outside.

I'll say this about videos... videos =/= real experience. Turn 5 makes that abundantly clear, you have to do tiny things in that fight that videos do not go over. For example making adjustments so that on snake phase only the paladin gets 4 stacks of debuff and the warrior gets no debuff. The video for example will only go over something along the lines of the goal is to get 4 stacks on snakes and you should lb snakes at xyz point blah blah blah. You also have to get that stuff burned into your memory so you can preform better. One of the reason for poor dps for example I found out was that the dps had their hands full learning the mechanic and were dropping their dps because they were learning the mechanic first instead of dpsing. Soon as they got some exp, their dps shot back up because they were comfortable in the mechanics and were more comfortable in pumping out dps.

Now I will also say this about videos... just because they don't equal real experience doesn't mean they are worthless. Videos can sometimes be the difference between endless wiping for weeks on end or clearing it that very same day. For example you might find a stragedy that solves a particular problem your party is having with a part of a fight. Not only that but videos do speed up the learning process because you know what your goal is, and what the gist of the mechanics are.

Incorrect. These aren't 'invisible' things that you just memorize when to dodge every time.

    1. Divebombs not only show an icon over the person's head that it will target, but focus targeting twin will cause her life to appear as well, so there are two different visual ques (in addition to an audio cue) that tells you when to dodge.

    2. Twintania shows the casting of twister if you have her focus targeted. That's why everyone focus targets her.

If by invisible you mean doesn't show a super obvious giant red circle on the ground where it'll hit, neither does death sentence, fireballs, and a hundred other enemy abilities in this game.

Just use PF and make practice runs. There you will find people like you who do not watch youtube videos. You do not have to watch those video's to play this game.

I watched a video on G ex b4 the fight and still made a couple of huge mistakes on spiney in a PF group.

First time, the ot didn't pull spiny over to the side and my aoe killed it.

Second time, I was going to use my fire 3 proc on one of the plumes, but it died and changed to spiny, and it 1 hit ko'd it. No way to inturupt it after you cast I didn't realize it changed targets till it was to late.

At the end of the run the caster ring droped, but the leader told me to leave. That I don't deserve the drop because I caused multiple wipes.

Yes even with watching a video, you can still make mistakes, and some people wont allow any mistakes.

When I joined the group it said newcomers welcomed, but after about 3 wipes we exited to repair and go again. Well 3 members left. The leader changed, and aperently the new leader wanted experienced players, but didn't say anything in the chat. Although I read the PF and saw it said "Some experience required" I figured well we just ran it a second ago and got to final phase, so I didn't think much of it. But then the leader said something about I shouldn't of joined if I was unexperianed...

Well, those mistakes seems to have been able to happen to anyone. Not really sure what your statement is though. Do you think you would have been able to do better without watching/reading a guide?

I really understand where you're coming from. Last week I got Pharos Sirius for my High Level Roulette. I have no problems healing it, but as soon as we got in a dps left. I realized the other dps and tank were still in their AF gear. Of course this isn't the first time I've seen someone leave when one person isn't i80 or above. I guess he could have left because it was Pharos, but why even leave? Its an easy dungeon :P Its really too bad he left because (like my other experiences with lower geared people) it was a fairly fast, smooth run...not one wipe. Actually, I've only wiped there once, and it was because an over geared tank was in such a rush, he locked out both dps on Siren lol. For videos...well, I usually watch videos because I like to have an idea of what's going to happen. I'd never be a jerk to someone who doesn't want to watch one though.

So basically, don't let those kind of people get you down...and I know that's easier said than done! I can only imagine how stressful it is to tank when everyone else has about 30 ilvls on you. If only we could have friends cross server, I'd heal for you all the time, and help you gear up

I'm not surprised people get put off tanking, I had a real charming individual with a custom soundbite that he/she used at the end boss, it was 3rd time I'd tanked Copperbell Mines, I use flash, fast blade/savage blade to maintain hate. The individual concerned offered advice which I was happy to take, but you could tell had an attitude. Then proceeds to pull that stunt at the end of the dungeon, which I'm sure made everyone feel great. FYI, to myself and everyone else out there, douches are douches, no matter what you do will be right or please them, and will go out of their way to make people feel like rubbish. So if you enjoy the class, don't give up!!

Square wonders why there aren't many tanks, its the rude players out there that keep people from wanting to play Tank classes. I actually considered doing a Tank or Healer class for second class but the pressure I know would get to me and I will drop the dungeon in a heartbeat if people are completely rude about being new to a role. Tank is the most needed class out in FF14 but people don't wanna treat the people trying to learn Tanking with respect. Than there is also the Tanks that are rude because if you see their efforts causing a wipe its usually best to try to think of a solution to the problem to prevent another wipe, I seen Tanks be rubbish to people who try to give them help or ideas.
