I want to see you run EX + Coil, or heck, even CT with DPS that don't know dungeon mechanics. Curious how far you'd get.

This is the point where DPS actually have to have knowledge of how to play their job, EX and Coils. Other than that you can literally take someone who has never played the game before, let them read tool tips on their skills and run dungeons. Some evidence of this? Our bard's fiance filled in for him for two runs of brayflox last night while he took his kids to soccer practice she'd never played the game and was able to hold her own for the most part. DPS anything non coil/ex related is pretty roll face.

I watched a video for Hydra. The people that did the vid knew what they were doing and made it look easy. But the reality was that when I did the fight, several people were new and we wiped a lot. So now I don't bother with videos because I learn better by doing the fights. I just join learning parties for new content or content I haven't done. So far I haven't had many issues.

Hydra is a simple fight with just like two main mechanics. When you start doing harder content that require more knowledge you going to end up dying often and asking the party why this and that while wiping for hours.

AS a healer I haven't watched one single video, and I never will. I don't want to ruin my first experience. You shouldn't care about those silly ppl who tell you to do so. This is a game and games are about having a great experiences. Not about watching and knowing a fight before youve been there.
You should just try to ignore those kinda ppl cause theyre just silly.

I kinda wish final fantasy implemented a mute button. So that we can shut out the flaming people and enjoy the game.

I understand completely not wanting to be in a party that ends up wiping 10 times in a row, however I also understand what it feels like to be the one causing everyone to wipe too. Neither side of that fence is fun, which is why I have absolutely no problem taking an extra few minutes at the beginning to see if anyone is new to that dungeon or fight, and offer any help if they need it. Plenty of people took the time to help me out when I needed it, so I do what I can to return the favor to others. At the end of the day this is just a game after all, and I don't know about the rest of you but I would like to think we have quite a nice community of people. We were all noobs once, so the way I see it, the more advanced players should feel obligated to take a second and lend a hand to someone who needs it. In the end, we will build a stronger community, and a more dedicated, happy player base.

If it's a learning party I understand, but otherwise; why would you expect people to want to waste hours wiping on a fight so one person can learn it when they could just read a strategy or watch a video? It's also fine to have the opinion that you have, but until coil gets to a 30% echo buff, it's going to be hard to imagine you beating t5-9. Just because you find it fun 'learning the fight and wiping endlessly' doesn't mean the 7 other people in the party do. Unless the majority has the same mindset as you, I would stick to pre-made learning/blind parties or FC.

I went into Coil Turns 1, 2, and 3 blind (and not on my main job for 3) and did fine. If you go in with experienced people and know how to play your job, it's easy enough to figure out what you're supposed to do by following the example of people in the party. But like I said, I join learning parties because they work better for me than watching a video.

Turn 1 is pretty easy. If you're dd you just stand around and do damage while avoiding glowing tiles.
Turn 2 is just enrage burn.
Turn 3 - Err jump around?

Most players are over geared for the coils now + 20 percent buff. Try to play your style t5+ and see if you still feel the same way.

If it's a learning party I understand, but otherwise; why would you expect people to want to waste hours wiping on a fight so one person can learn it when they could just read a strategy or watch a video? .............

Elitists like you makes me want to just jump into to those iLvl 85+ parties and then just wipe just so I can screw with them. But, NO, I derive no joy in doing that, nor do I have any desire to waste other peoples time or my own. But people joining stuff on the duty finder/roulette should NOT be expected to have clears or studied video.

There is fun and joy in figuring things out for themselves. The elitist speedrunners do NOT get decide how a game is fun. And they can't force undergeared and/or inexperienced players to go any faster, just like you can not expect a 7 year old to dunk a basketball. Some things take time and practice.
