My two gil on watching videos.

I was at the chimera fight for my first relic weapon. The only time I ever watched a video before hand. Watched 4-5 of them. More than once. Head into the fight and the group uses a strategy completely different from every single video. Apparently everyone moved on to the 'tank on the hill to avoid AOE' method.

So yeah. I just don't bother anymore.

I know you and me tend to be on at different times, which makes it hard, but for sure me and Zah and Ziz are more than willing to join you in runs.

I know what you mean, though. And your examples are (I hope) unfortunately the extremes, and not the norm. As healer I get less abuse, but I have been in parties where othrrs have shouted at the tank (esp in my low/high roulette). Thing is, I try and take the time to expain strat and give some hints on where to place certain mobs/bosses - but my chat is swollowed up in the chat box with "OMG, how u get this far without knowning how to play your class" etc from the other peeps. Not cool.

Some people are just plain rude/wierd/abnoxious/pathetic*...we just have to rise above them. There are plently people who are patient/poliet/helpful/friendly*. Honestly!!

Since these servers players are not your type. You can't change other players characters to suit your gameplay but you can change Servers. =D

The main issue is that most people already know the mechanics and don't want to have to go through them every single time.

Make a PF group at the scope. Problem solved.

It kinda is bad game design, the encounters should be more forgiving but more random.

I remember doing Titan HM so many times I was only getting hit by tumults pretty much.

IMO there should never be an instant kill ability in a fight, its not so bad having an ability do high damage (since it can be absorbed BT stone skin and galvanise) but landslide is just BS.

Unfortunately the game is what it is. When I've made learning parties in the past they fill up quickly and we even cleared some after a few goes. People seem to improve exponentially but people will leave after second wipe so you can never get to that point.

Really today's video games have for a very long time felt like a lot more work for another's enjoyment at the cost of your own.
I can understand the reason for learning mechanics and watching "how to videos" before hand but really, some people like the idea of seeing something new for the first time. There is a reason most people don't read the last page of a book first, the story would be ruined for them on account of another persons preference. The dungeons of final fantasy have a story to tell, some want to enjoy it. Just my opinion.

the trouble is not the fact that people doesn't want to let people without info come in... but how the fight are designed...
it's not a fight, but a dance... let's be honest, it's what it is. you need to know every step or you are dead. no error is possible...
the worst is if you know this dance perfectly the game become easy like hell. why? because nothing can happend outside of the dance. it's scripted to a very very very high level.

why people have trouble to kill Twin and Titan Ex? even with echo? because any error = death. it's not skilled to beat a dance... it's simply be able to find the right dance partner for do it. people that know the step. and it lead to something really really bad. check the pf of your realm, most of the time you have a few that say if you don't have kill it you don't join, train party are less and less present. because people abandon, they don't have the time and luxury to spend countless hours of them life to find the right dance partner that will allows them to learn the fight.

the one that know, for most of them, have become elitist jerk... they only want to play with people that have done it before!

i think, the trouble come from the fight, they really need to change the way they approach it. we don't want a dance, but a fight! some random is needed! because if we stay on the actual way... all the new player that come to level max, without FC...will stop because it's impossible to pass the wall of the elitist jerk.

When did it become mandatory to watch YouTube videos before a fight?

zhis sadly happened because many gamers these days (the new generation of them) is unwilling to learn themselves or help others.

i was licky so far with Endgame dungeons to group with people who actually were willing to help if you asked them most of the time, but there've been also some bad apples, more of them lately.

example 1: CM the first time, some of us where completely new to it, as we were finishing up the storyline. There was this one tank who tried to initiate vote-kicks after we wiped once, because we didn't come in prepared and have watched youtube vids on how to clear the dungeon!!!!

Why should I or anyone else, who actually wants to experience the game and the hardships and fails with it, watch a youtube vid before entering a dungeon? Where is the fun and the actually progression in that?
In the end we vote-kicked that guy and yes, we may have wiped a few times, but we still did it and had fun learning the mechanics.

example 2: Braflox HM, we had a healer who wasn't really highly geared, the first argument form another DPS was that isn't going to end well. He then started to complain about the tank (who was actually aware of the healer not beeing geared for big pulls) not pulling big enough crowds. He started to throw a fit that we progress to slow. To prove a point the tank pulled a huge crowd which eventually wiped us because the healer couldn't really keep up. The DPS left even before the second boss, he rather waited for another 20mins in the queue, losing some myth, just because we couldn't move on fast enough!

C: Be like me and understand the mechanics on first/second go and play like I've already done it a thousand times.

THIS!....I realized that for successfully complete Garuda EX I had to give the group the idea that It was super easy and I did it thousand times... And even if it was my first time, it went kind of smooth and finally did it... If you say you are new, people is already preparing ragequit action after one wipe, regardless of if you saw video or not. It was kind of sad because I always advised when was first timer somewhere, but my first time tanking Garuda EX I had to do it like if I'd know the entire fight perfectly...

(Well, after videos, and trying with ragequitters.... I kinda that did it like if I'd know the entire fight perfectly... Just didn't clear it before)
