No, those designs are being retired to make way for AF2.
However it hasn't been officially confirmed if this is for 2.3 (most likely) or the expansion.

Which would you guys prefer?

1. Gear is class specific (PLD/WAR), but you can get the highest ilvl via tomes.
2. Gear is role specific (Tank), but you need to get a drop in Coil to upgrade it to the highest ilvl.

Option 1 means that you can more readily gear one class, and will give "more" options for BiS lists. But It hurts people who use multiple classes for similar roles.
Option 2 means you're stuck at a lower ilvl unless you have a competent static, but you dont have to grind for nearly as much gear.
