Dear SE,
I understand it is (comparatively) easy for a person in Japanese to express themselves properly in just 1000 characters. Western languages, however, do not use anything remotely similar to kanji, consequently, it takes us a lot more to write down our thoughts. As shocking as it may sound, there are actual literate people around here, who are either forced to chop up what they want to say into multiple posts (no better than spamming, in my opinion) or edit their one post after it's published to add what they had to cut off (which is basically circumventing your restriction).
From what I've experienced, raising it to 2000 from the current 1000 would save us a lot of headache while also helping to prevent the abovementioned problems.
Thank you.
