I can understand your want for larger groups in endgame to get to know and play with more of your fc but end game isn't all there is that enable you to do this.

I am an officer of a progression FC. I however don't raid and am fairly casual toward this game. Yet I play with many members of the FC including the core raiders and our casual members. The reason I was chosen was because I am someone who likes to make fun events for all to enjoy casual and hardcore, core raiders and non raiders. Like we had a dungeon gauntlet recently with Gil prizes where you teamed up with people to see how far you could get in the time limit only using gear aquired through the dungeons. We have had an FC group event for making money to buy a house. We have a foot race coming up. We do Levi and EX modes randomly throughout the week coil 1-5 farming myth and soldiery farming. The systems in place don't limit you playing with and getting to know the rest of your FC the players themselves do that. If they need a carrot on the end of the stick to be social with you they probably aren't worth being social with period.

As for comparing this to FFXI I would suggest looking at it now rather than remembering what it was. Salvage is a solo endeavor dynamis to limbus sea sky all solo. Nyzul ? Solo. They recently made a new system for content that scales mobs because no one wanted large group content in that game anymore. So even the most recent full alliance stuff is now 6 man content.

Don't get me wrong I am all for new events and everything but saying that is what it is or that only the best rewards should come from it (yes you said slightly higher stats and item levels despite saying side grades) that doesn't make it an option that makes it mandatory. Maybe requesting something like the scaling system from FFXI or WoW's flex system would be more acceptable but even then large groups are not as popular as they once were regardless of what Game you look at. How about starting small and asking them to actually let you build a 24 man party.
