My example would be:
"Flashfreeze causes the effect of Stagger"

In this case, it is still going to imply the monster is weakened, without including the expectation of a modified loot table.

As another person mentioned, it is ambiguous and confusing, like "Sentinel" the class versus "Sentinel" the Gladiator's ability.

what do you mean it doesn't modify the loot tables? if you mean that it does not allow items to drop off mobs then you are incorrect. i farmed horns off goats for a long time using flashfreeze as my skill. i also know it works on the antelope stags. it breaks horns and allows the drops the same as concussive blow II does.
