nope that isnt how it works, I was in DF and error 90k DC and came back dead in the inn room

Generally, yes.

However, if you die and then get disconnected directly from the instance server, you'll remain dead when you respawn outside of the instance.

This is how I ended up dead in front of our FC house one morning.
