Can we repair from any Class yet?

    Seriously...

    Been asking for this since beta, still nothing. It's just getting really annoying now;
    • Self repairs take the senseless extra step of switching several DoH and going through the (awful) menu to find the gear you want to repair. Meanwhile using a NPC is as simple as selecting "Repair All" for your current equipped gear.
    • Caught off guard in a dungeon and gear breaks? Have fun.
    • Having fun wiping to content and your gear breaks? So much for the Echo buff, you now have to leave, wipe Echo, and repair your gear.
Seriously, why has this not been changed, or at least acknowledge, yet? It is really quite simple. If you want to self repair gear, all you should need is the required DoH level and Dark Matter. You should not need to actually change to the required DoH, you should just be able to select "Repair" from your character window and it will let you repair the gear, where ever you are.

Hell, just remove gear damage altogether. It was nice in 1.x where it served to give DoH an extra source of revenue, but that has been taken out for (as far as I'm aware) no reason, at least not one the developers have shared with us. Now? Well, remember when they added Gil drops to every dungeon enemy because people complained about repair costs? What was the point in that? It's just a meaningless feature since that addition. A meaningless, annoying feature. The Gil for repairs is provided for you. Just remove gear damage and remove that Gil and the only difference to the game is it's less annoying.

Even if the situations where this is annoying are rare, they're still annoying for absolutely no reason. Either make the system less obtuse, or just remove it. Please.

I too would like to see PC based repairs become more in the norm and overall MUCH easier and quicker to do! Gear has no say in the matter, so why not let you do it if you have the crafting class already. They just come up to you request meld like the NPC and you set the price, they hit accept and it happens!

I'd like to see craftable field repair kits. Face it, you've all entered a dungeon after you forgot to repair your gear. Happens to the best of us. If you have repair kits, you can repair gear in dungeons on whatever job you want. There can be 3 types of kits:

Basic: Repairs 10% durability for each use.
    Moderate: Repairs 25% durability.
    Advanced, repairs 100% durability.

Each kit can stack to 99.

And while we're at it, remove NPC repairs. Give crafters a market for repairing.

Yes. Gear durability is an archaic system that should be removed. At the very least, they should have a way to repair gear while in dungeons. I forget to repair sometimes (because I have trouble remembering to go talk to an NPC every few dungeon runs) and its not fair to the people I'm partying with when my gear breaks. I have to apologize and leave, make them continue without a tank, lose echo, etc.

Even if it were easier I don't see myself bothering. NPC repairs are nothing, pinching pennies over dark matter sounds like kind of a waste of effort managing something you don't have to.

Gear breaking in dungeons is a issue, if a rare one, though. Maybe it should stop you from queueing entirely if it's under a certain percent.

Well if they make PC repairs easier, perhaps they can bring up the repair prices back up like in 2.0 or even higher making it a bigger gil sink and giving crafters more gil for their effort?

Sorry, but one thing is an general command that repairs everything taking in count the level of your crafters. Other very diferent is the ability to repair gear inside the dungeons or trials.

One is a QoL need, having to change blacksmith, armorer and goldsmith to repair for example a whole warrior set is not a good desing, is in fact, complicated beyond need and clumsy.
The other is just a consecuence you have to deal with if you are not careful, is ok to be punished if you didn`t repaired your gear before going inside a dungeon or trial, thats perfect.

Cause of that one poll people voted in to keep the requirement of having different doh jobs to repair gear instead of just having one. I voted for 1 class leveled can do all repairs personally because I hated the switching between jobs in 1.0 to self repair.

This is a slippery slope. If we can just repair on a DoW/M, why not just craft gear as a DoW/M too? It makes sense that you need to be on ARM to repair your armor. Being on PLD and all of a sudden pulling out a hammer from who-knows-where is a surefire immersion breaker.

I agree with your first point. Why not make it easier to repair one's own gear? But I don't think this ability needs to be extended to dungeons or because of failing multiple times since those things don't happen if you go in prepared.
