    Bring real hard mode Raid/dungeons back please

    cPlease bring back 8-man dungeons that actually had mechanics and challenges inside that wasn't just a boss fight.

    Coil T6-9 are just a series of boss fights with little to no dungeoon mechanics.

    Something like AV and CC 17 minute runs back in 1.0 would be nice.

    I remember AV and CC from 1.0 and speed running past a bunch of leashing mobs and killing only trash that spawned chests with basically all blms because they had the best AoE then having everyone switch to Monk for the last boss is not my idea of strategy or a hard fight.

    Tbh, it looks like they just ran past a bunch of mobs over and over. Am I missing something?

    And yeah that was the endgame dungeons were like although I only sampled Dzemeal Darkhold before I quit.

    Tank ran ahead and everyone followed. When sprint ran out, you slept/killed stuff, activated what you had to, rinsed and repeated to the next location.

    Wasn't there also some really dumb thing about the 6th chest/relic chest for AV/CC? Like you had to finish it in under 17 mins to get the 100% chance of the item needed for your relic?

    There were a few chests that were time related so you had to speed run to get chests, relic chest and one of the darklight chests I believe. But in 2.0 they didn't want to force people into doing speed runs for loot so they dropped that requirement so now people only speed run because they want to get done faster.

    Nope! That's exactly what's happening! hahaha "Yea let's get those old dungeons back!" -said no one ever
    Although.... 8 man hard more dungeons would be cool for sure. And changing jobs mid-dungeon was fun back then too.
    While we're at it, exploring that cavern in La Noscea with the keys and the treasure chests (which is now Sastasha or whatever) was a hell of a lot of fun too!
    Oh! And those wine cellars in the shroud that had prince of pestilence in it and dropped that cool red rob with the gold mask! Why'd they remove the open dungeons like that? ; ;
    I miss those days of exploring places and feeling that sense of danger as well... you know the lvl 99 mobs that had ?? next to their names..... ; ;

    I think some of the chests in DD were like that too...now that you mention it. Like the captain's quarter one or something pretty deep in.

    I don't really miss the 1.0 dungeons except for the hijinks that ensued when things went bad XD

    maybe I just can't tell exactly what's going on but it doesn't seem like this video is a very good example of mechanically complex or otherwise challenging content

    I remember back in 1.0 when Yoshi comments about relic reborn quest would be quest to test players limit, similar like what we have now with coil of bahamut. Yoshi also says back then that the relic reborn will be reworked when ARR released so that it will be accomplished much easier, and thus intended to keep the 1.0 version the way it is.

    And yes, 1.0 version really involves strict speed run, or for some ppl called it back then: super speed runs. For AV/CC, super speed run (17 mins) will guarantee the quest item drops, while normal speed run (25 mins) will have drop percentage way lower, and normal run will get you near abysmal drop rate (there are ppl who are lucky enough getting these on normal runs).

    The faction leve part near the end of 1.0 relic quest really requires light party to do very speed run on a 10 minute timer. Almost insanely hard if you happen to reach this point.

    It is insanely hard, but now... I kinda miss them.

    Let's also not forget the hard version of final boss fight in 1.0 story mode: Rivenroad Hard. I wonder how ppl compare that with T9... :?

    I'd actually quite like some eight man dungeons...

    Well, only in an ideal world. In reality it would probably be just as much of a failure as Crystal Tower... But still, it would be nice if something like Pharos had two Light Parties split up, fulfilling objectives so the other party could advance up the tower, and so on, until you get to the final boss, who you all fight. Would have made bosses like Siren and Diabolos much more satisfying. Would have made the dungeons much more interesting, but in practice I imagine it would just be annoying (hard enough to get one Light Party to function in those places...).
