You have no idea how jump is going to be implemented, or the potential to expand the feature.I know that. But it wasnt a game breaker for anybody without jumping. It makes no sense and its useless.. but nevermind.. only hope you wow guys enjoy this game as long as i would like to. I'm only trying to say that you are definitly not going to like jump in the way ffxiv is. (sry for my ba
d english)
And really, if variety is going to elicit cries of World Of Warcraft, this game will never get better.

For the record, I have never played WoW. However, I will point out that associating people who are ok with or actively want jump as WoW players identifies what I feel to be a closed-minded ignorance that plagues the XI community refugees that have found their way here to XIV. Those guys are the problem here, not the other way around and they will hurt this game more than they will ever help it.I know that. But it wasnt a game breaker for anybody without jumping. There are people who when asking about the status of this game ask about jump. To many current non-FFXIV players its lack of jump in this day and age is a sign of its lack of direction and inability to compete. If the lack of jumping was a deal breaker for any FFXIV players there would have and did already leave by now, along with the 90% of other players who have left. Also, the zones are being redesigned, and I am sure that part of that redesign will end up factoring in the jumping mechanic. It is not a coincidence that the redesign and jumping are both on the to do list. SE isn't going to pointlessly implement jumping, and it isn't going to harm the playerbase in either the short or long term.

Good point Ark_Mage2, new blood needs to be added to this game. There are people who when asking about the status of this game ask about jump. What these restrictive, elite player type ppl don't realize is. By restricting the game to the point where ppl are not interested in it restricts FFXIV to appeal to only a niche group of ppl.
We cannot hope for FFXIV to grow in population and appeal to more players if features are not added that will draw in new players. That either potentially left because of lack of features or never joined because of lack of features.
Arguing about every "new" feature that comes along is only further putting FFXIV into an early grave. IF WE DONT GET MORE PLAYERS to come to FFXIV. Then you might as well stop playing now because XIV has only 6 months or less to live.
Open your mind and learn new things. It is what XIV needs to survive. And if you enjoy the game now to stick with it. You should be glad the Developers realize this and are making attempts to make the game more popular and fun to play.
Thanks for this good post. Now i dont have to ask myself anymore why the most new games are redundant and why i dont find a really good game like ff1-9, grandia etc. anymore. I didn't like Vagrant Story and didn't play Super Mario RPG :P but what i mean is: today a game needs to be open-world, have jump, awesome graphics, and endless action to be good. So most of the games are the same. I gave up my hopes for really good games long time ago.
My only hope is the possibility of deactivating jump, so I don't have to see ppl jumping around with their awesome looking FINAL FANTASY(!!!) characters.
Because they have to redesign the whole game to make this possible. And seriously, I never wanted a game like this. I like the actual game feeling. This game is something different to other MMORPG's - just let it be a Final FantasyOn a serious note, I can't see why it shouldn't be added for jumping large gaps in around the world, like from one cliff to another, or climbing mountains for something awesome at the top (NM or something, who knows).. They're wasting their time if it's not for gameplay.![]()

Would you prefer Tetris? Because even that has had its changes over the years. A game that does not innovate cannot succeed.I didn't like Vagrant Story and didn't play Super Mario RPG :P but what i mean is: today a game needs to be open-world, have jump, awesome graphics, and endless action to be good. No, I want Final Fantasy
Innovation = Useless dumb looking hopping..
I was fine with the game, you will never be. So who's happier and didn't expect too much?
I'm really looking forward to the most of the changes and content, but why should they change the whole game style oO jumping does not fit. It even doesn't if they redesign all areas. But it seems like everybody want that jump sh1t, so I don't want to stay a rock in this thread.
I have one.. Of course I like some of the new games, but I'm not gonna play them again - nothing special.you don't have a PS2 ???
