Do you know how many bad DPS's there are? o.O Honestly, you HAVE to tell the majority of DRGs/MNKs when to use LB as they for some reason want it to be the finishing blow :S Just use it already, there is usually no point in waiting until it kills the boss. Better have it deal more damage :P

When I'm playing one of my DPS, I don't take it personally tbh. Sometimes DPS don't do that shit right, now if they complain about when I do it, I start laughing at them (No, you don't LB immediately on the phase pre-big bomb, you can wait a few seconds, promise, never messed it up.). But honestly? They're paying attention to their own stuff and I highly doubt they're trying to tell me I suck personally, only that they've had some bad experiences. It's the same way if someone yells esuna on my WHM (Half the time it's off before they type it, so I only point that out to them if they do it the whole run)

Keep in mind, as well, DPS have more than just the positioning and timing of Limit Break to worry about - we have our buffs to worry about, too.

If I see that Limit Break isn't quite up, I'm going to go into an agressive burst-DPS cycle, most likely popping my best skills (Blood For Blood, Raging Strikes, Internal Release, Etc...) and start applying the bulk of my spike damage. It takes me about 8 GCD's to go through a full cycle, and if Limit Break comes up in the middle of that, it would be a net-loss for me to blow it at that point.

Furthermore, most the time, I want to apply a DoT before limit breaking. Why? Because it can continue to DPS while I'm limit breaking. It's an optimization thing.

I'll be fair and say that there's no way you can know that a DPS is doing any of this, and when one sees there's a limit break bar at low % HP, all they're thinking is 'OMG WE CAN WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!!!!', but keep in mind, not all of us DPS are terrible. Some of us take our jobs seriously.

I think it's hesitation or shyness, not stupidity. No one wants to get yelled at for using LB when they're not supposed to.

But, you know, it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Maybe you don't do this but a lot of DPS just flat out don't use the LB or they wait till the boss is at around 1% then use it thus making it not worth while. More often then not people do not use the LB and usually have to be told to use it.

Once in satasha while leveling my summoner I used LB at the last boss even though we had a melee dps.
He was so mad he told me to uninstall the game cause he didn't want ppl like me at lvl 50

And on topic, I usually type it sometimes in chat to remind the dps of the lb, but thats usually in low level dungeons where you don't know whether the dps are used to playing dps or not

Here is one quite long story, but good example of reason other ppl telling to use LB:

So here's a player waiting on his miner to gather on unspoiled gathering nodes, while in same time DFing for WP, maybe to score some myths to do his book of atma. When that DF pops and checked that he still has to wait at least around 25 minutes before next nodes popped, he figured... oh well, think I should be able to finish 1 dungeon and make it in time to gather.

After he went in, he realized it later that the dps in that party were a bit... slow. And since that dps is a melee, their LB should be way more effective. Unfortunately, he never used it on both mid-bosses. So... when they're on final boss dungeon and already midway with 2 lb bar ready for some time, that melee dps still hasn't used it. So, on that urge of impatient and seeing the clock ticking really close to that gather node that will popped real soon, he finally tells that melee to use that LB ASAP!

Alas, that melee still won't LB for some reason. Then the time really ticking faster and faster, and out of desperation, that player start spamming in party chat log to "Use that LB!". Alas... till the end of the fight, that LB never went off. After exiting, he immediately changed back to miner and rushed to the scene, only to arrive 1 second late and saw that node vanished right in front of his eyes. And he curses the twelve on that melee who's so slow and unresponsive to others.

Now, because of this, he becames to wary to DF and waiting for 1 hour node pops. Lesson's learned: multitasking is a b*tch. lol

BTW, this story is not trying to discourage new players. Just making a point to realize that other people might have other urgent priorities, even though he/she might already prepared on such consequences should things go awry.

Because most DPS i get in my groups forget to LB or wait to start casting when the boss have like 1% HP left and the boss die before they even finish casting. Not, it's not required to beat the dungeon but sometimes it helps a lot when you get a group with undergeared players in fights like Ifrit HM (nails) and Haukke Manor HM (last add).

But asking people to LB is really that rude? I just say "LB" and nothing else, does people really get offended because of that?
